  • So... this session happened, and it's up there among the top 5 best sessions I've ever run. I'll do a more comprehensive write up later, but I just wanted to say thanks for the suggestions - they really helped....

  • Absolutely. The only reason this is going ahead is because in this instance they created a dream-stuff replication of the sun, which in turn created a momentary duplication of the unconquered sun himself. The severity of the offence as an act of heresy - including the potential dabbling with fair folk magic - is the only reason it is being considered, and also, until the audit is conducted, they're not sure who actually committed the offence - that they are solars will be a part of their defence (though the PCs are utterly unaware of the celestial bureaucracy, so this will be their introduction...

  • I don't know - I just want an illustration of cythera being stuffed inside malfeas while voices cry out from inside his already gaping holes....

  • I think this is coming together ok, but I jave more questions/requests for ideas.

Daystar pilot applies pressure to Bureau of Seasons to investigate matter as an issue of, effectively, heresy. Also significant concerns that the momentary creation of a duplicate sun may result in a new realm being created - and no one wants that for obvious reasons.

The Bureau taps a dragon to investigate with a fair amount of imbued authority.

Question: do celestial infractions apply to solar exalted or to mortal denizens in general? I.e. in the form of an audit, or would...

  • After reading Glories and Ink monkies I

    A) understand the hatred for Daystar that until now always baffled me. I don't buy into it, but I understand it.

    B) love the idea of the Daystar gods applying pressure to the bureau of seasons to demand jurisdiction of the investigation due to the severity of a duplicate sun being created.

  • Interesting idea. I like the thought of the inquisitor being a celestial god because it puts them in conflict with the wyld hunt. Which book details the daystar and its inhabitants?...

  • I was originally toying with the idea of having a Bronze faction agent masquerading within the Wyld Hunt, while a Gold Faction sidereal was running a parallel investigation 'off the books'.

I'm kind of tempted to run a session a bit like an interrogation with the Sidereal seeking information about the PC (who died during the act of summoning the sun - because who can touch the sun?) but I'm not familiar enough with the powers of older sidereals that would allow them to conduct such an inquisition without risking coming into direct conflict - which would be a bit of a TPK situation...

  • What would an inquisition from Yu-Shan look like? (2e)

I have a 2E game approaching the end of a major narrative arc. One of the key plot points is that a PC had been secretly learning the Quicksilver Hand of Dreaming Style - which in my game I'm determining to have wyld/primordial origins - and a PC made a spectacular use of it in a self-sacxrificing gesture to defeat an army of war ghosts by summoning the sun to a battlefield and midnight.

Such an action, with it's scale and spectacle and display of raw power has A) initiated a large wyld hunt among the local Imperials B) attracted the attention of officials in Yu-Shan, primarily out...
