Anyone here ever played one of these Legacy boardgames? I'm particularly interested in Seafall Legacy. The thing is, the destructive gimmick makes me wary of spending on it (keep in mind the expense is proportionally quite higher here in Brazil, where the game is more expensive and salaries are lower than the US).

Is the campaign worth playing just once? Is the baseline, non-legacy Seafall game fun enough (since after ending the campaign you can still use the Legacy version as a very close approximation of the base game)? Would going through all the effort to preserve all the components...

I'm glad the references do not include a certain version of a legendary sword, whose legend begins in the 12th century......

It must have, since there is a Sidereal named Shepherd of the North Star (why would anyone shepherd an unmoving star? Well, all the old Sidereal Sigs have joke names)...

Hmm...perhaps something like Golden Amethyst for the ship? Or, if you are fond of long names, Golden Amethyst in Waters of Cerulean and Crimson? Amethysts are usually violet, referring to the Violet Bier of Sorrows/Saturn, but this one is golden in a reference to the Golden Barque of Heaven/Mercury. The ship is all about you inevitably reaching your goal and completing your journey, but it is also about relationships of undying love or vengeance and likely to get into conflicts upon finding their goal and during the journey there and back, thus additional references to the Cerulean Lute of Harmony/Venus...

Well, without knowing better how the Evocations go about achieving that, these suggestions might be waaaay off base, but here is what I got:

Saturn's Blessing? It helps you reach your ends and if there is one thing that is inevitable, well..."There is always an ending". As for light with darker undertones: blessing implies benefits...but of course a "blessing from Saturn" might be an euphemism for something sinister.

Star Crosser? Star-crossed lovers are certainly the subject of countless poetic writings. This name might be good if the Artifact...

I'd suggest using Golems or relatively simple (non-First Age Artifice) Automata of appropriate size, instead of creating "Mookstriders". Brass Legionnaires can apparently be created in batches with appropriate infrastructure, so it might be feasible for larger automata as well, by using even more resources and support structure. The minions being computer-piloted is a thing occasionally in Gundam, right?

If you feel you must have some sort of lesser Warstriders instead of other options, however, Make them Artifact 4-5 Non-First Age Artifice things that can be produced in...

So, now that the just-about-final rules for Warstriders are out, would you still say yes to Camena's difficulty-9-gambit-bypassing trick for getting at a 'strider pilot?

replied to [3E] No power armor?
The word "magitech" is unlikely to appear this edition due to previous baggage. First Age Artifice is fundamentally using high Craft expertise combined with great command of Sorcery to create a new art capable of making Artifacts greater than usually possible. It covers a good deal of what was called magitech, though my understanding is that it also allows for other aesthetic trappings, as well as some normal artifacts getting some "magitech" aesthetics. Clockwork soldiers that can obey orders and perform tasks and the like might be normal Artifacts, for instance, but a construct...

While there are no examples of it in Arms, the sidebar on first age artifice (page 116) explicitly says powered armor is one of the things made with Craft (First Age Artifice)...

The pdf bookmarks have a number of errors in the Wonders of the Lost Age chapter, with multiple cases of the sub-bookmarks including other artifacts in addition to the expected evocations. For instance, we have:

    - Second-Shadow Drum (Soulsteel Artifact OOO)
-- Evocations of the Second-Shadow Drum
    -- Brass Legionnaire (Artifact OOOO)
-- Collar of Dutiful Submission (Artifact OOOO)
    -- Shadow-Casting Jewel (Artifact OOOO)
    -- Sorcery-Capturing Cord (Artifact OOOO)

I'm assuming all of those except the Evocations were supposed to be their...
