replied to A Closer Look: Solars vs Dragonblooded
I'll start by noting that I'm yet all that familiar with the system. So please read my question as a question, not as some sort of statement about how things are.

An issue that I didn't see discussed in this thread is that mote regeneration for DB's is the same as for Solars. If the solars are outnumbered how many times can they use their full excellences before they're down to 5 motes each round? When the essence supplies are low won't 2 dragonblooded make short work of one solar of equal experience? With numbers, won't limited essence respiration typically push a fight in favor...

I love how the essence 1 linguistics charm cryptic essence cypher gives characters an opportunity to lay the groundwork for a secret communications network by instilling intimacies.

On the fire subject, there is a 5th edition Ars Magica book that has an NPC I wrote who has spent his entire life devising ways to be able to solve any problem with fire, and he may be the most fun thing that I've ever written.

As long as you're reading this, is there any chance to get this on steam or the Microsoft store? I generally have been unhappy with the distraction factor of folks playing with their phones at the table, meanwhile a windows tablet is my tool of choice.

I was reading the charm previews for dragon blooded in anticipation of the new section of text dropping today. I see that portentous comet deflecting method allows the user to clash an incoming attack as a reflexive action. The charm user needs to clash with a decisive attack. The charm does not have the perilous keyword.

So do I go with the general rule of you can't launch a decisive attack when you're crashed, because the charm doesn't make any mention that it alters this, or do I say that specific charms supersede general rules and therefore the user can clash decisively...

  • The Heptogram admits un-exalted. That's going to make a change in my model of the setting.

  • I see language that bugs me in the preview, but I'm not certain that it's an outright error.

Page 77 in the Iselli description "the house’s gutted but once-venerable espionage machine." I've always thought that venerable meant old. A few checks around web dictionaries tells me that venerable means being respected due to its advanced age.

"Now it is gutted but it used to be respected because of how old it was", strikes me as not likely to be the message the author would want to convey.

Is there a way to bring this to the attention...
