Question about "Double x" charms. From my reading, they only double the specific number stated (so a charm saying it doubles success on 7 would mean both 7 and 10 give two, but eight and nine are one each as normal.) I've seen people say that you get double successes on the new number and everything above it (IE: Double 8s would have two successes each on 8, 9, and 10).Which is correct?

Yeah, I thought about grabbing a picture from Jurassic Park or something but decided fuck it, feathered Raptors or bust. Technically the Yeddim is hairy, but there wasn't any art of the right megafauna where people added hair. Glad you liked it! Just googled the right name, picked the coolest picture, and made it fit. I'll be keeping it updated as best I can with new releases. If you think of anything I missed, let me know....

Awesome! Glad you like it! I kept having to google the various latin names for all the critters and I realized there wasn't reference for both appearance and scale on a lot of them so I figured I'd fix that....

As I've been watching this thread (because fuck yeah, dinosaurs!) I noticed I've been googling a bunch of the names. Got half a mind to cobble together a document of what creature to what megafauna guide with reference pictures and such.

Personally I'd say you'd be fine. If you wanted to reflect them being smaller just knock a few dice off its pools and maybe a few health levels...

Doing a bit of digging, looks like Mospids were among the critters that got axed from the 3E core, which could very well mean we could see them again in Hundred Devils or other supplement. From what I can find the Eagle splat is pretty comparable, though, so decent placeholder. (And redundance is a possible reason our lovely snake birds got axed in the first place)

In a discussion of one of the most recent Adversaries of the Righteous the devs (I think Vance) did mention that river dragons, at least in 3E, are explicitly enormous crocodiles/alligators.

18 years of edition creep, 14+ of which said otherwise.

"11-15 The character is engulfed in a brilliant bonfi re of Essence that burns from her feet to at least a foot above her head. Objects that come in contact with the aura may be left bleached or faded, as if they had been exposed to the sun for many days. The character is visible for miles. The light produced is bright and steady enough to read by, out to a spearcast’s distance.

Technically bonfire comes before Iconic. When you hit bonfire the iconic anima shapes from it as you channel essence then dissipates back into the bonfire.

That said, this is really cool! Awesome visual reference! I personally don't picture bonfire as a colum like that, but everything else is exactly how I picture it.

If I'm understanding you correctly, I'm pretty sure nothing. I'm fairly certain being able to make an uncontested Disengage action (A Disengage with no enemies in the same range band to oppose it) is RAW. It would still count as an action so taking an uncontested Disengage and throwing a knife at someone would apply the Flurry penalty to the attack but that's it.

Update: Just re-read the Disengage rules and it appears I might be wrong about that being how it works RAW, but it IS how I've been running it for 3+ years now and nothing has exploded, so I'm gonna stand by my "nothing...

That's completely fair. I can only speak to my personal opinions and group. The crafter in my group has very much enjoyed the new system but YMMV....

Most people have already brought up ac lot of points I'd make, but figure I'll throw in my two cents.

I've played and ran a lot of Exalted across all three editions. In my experience, from a mechanical standpoint 3rd is the most FUN to play and while initially it's systems are intimidating they all integrate FAR better and more fluidly than either 1st or 2nd. Setting wise, 3rd takes a stance almost perfectly between the the vagueness of 1st and over specification of 2nd. New setting additions also add a ton of fun flavor not present in its predecessors.
    Been playing this game...
