  • I also can't start a new thread, arrrggg.

Last time this happened, you were able to rescue a bunch of threads that had been in "limbo". Were those new threads? Should I stop trying to create my thread and assume you can find it later, or keep trying until "Empty Response" goes away?

If you do find multiples of the same thread from me, feel free to delete the extras.

What would Change if...? (Setting Hack)

What would change in the setting if Mardukth, the Mountain and the Beast Upon It, had switched sides halfway through the Primordial War and joined the winning side?

I am assuming Mardukth as depicted by Reminiscent Oasis here or here. I am also assuming Inari is his Fetich soul.

(Mods, please forgive me if I post this more than once, feel free to delete the duplicates. The forums are being weird at me. Seriously why isn't this working?)

JohnDoe you just made my day.

Yeah, I'm pretty certain that they were named Ebon Dragon and Scarlet Empress in the first place because they're a shout-out to
the Ebon Dragon and Scarlet Phoenix in KoTE -- not the other way around. But originally, Erembour was upset because this bride might survive. Implying there's a good chance she's doomed to die.

  • Yeah, when I posted that I remembered other times that the forum has updated weirdly with the wrong name-avatar combination.

But I also can't edit my posts in Exalted. So.

Well, I saved nearly every url I had . I'll post a list once Lioness starts a thread for it.

Does anyone have a copy of the Scroll of Sorcerous Enlightenment? It was deleted from Dropbox a while ago. There was also another 2E Sorcery rewrite deleted from Dropbox, and Maese Mateo's Terrestrial Exaltation Rules.

    1. The Basanites are very interesting, more as fire elementals than as elves. In fact I don't see why they shouldn't all be drider-shaped. I like Primordial-made races to be very different from humans and each other, and the humanoid shape to be a quite rare one before the First Age. Anyway, I want to know their history. What Flame did the Sea march against, anyway? We know that it must be a true story, because it's part of Kimbery's Legend and the Primordial Legends are axiomatically True. But ... well it should stay mostly mysterious but I'd like to see enigmatic hints about how the Basanites...

There are mountains of Demon homebrew projects at ShadownEssence. Most are unfinished and abandoned, but the community was very prolific and enthusiastic. (And if you want a forum specifically for Demon, go ahead and move in!)

Edit: Ugh, darnit, SnE is down right now. Well look around here instead:

Especially check out the Demon Project section.

My headcanon is very similar to this....

There is a great write up of the Indian changelings at the Asura Project: ‚Äčhttp://shadownessence.org/index.php?...233-the-asura/

I would guess that the Nagaraja appropriated that name without knowing about the weresnakes. The real Nagah keep their existence very, very secret, even from other shapeshifters. Anyone who find out about them dies ASAP.

Well, keep in mind that wolves are even more endangered in the WoD than in real life. Then consider how few shapeshifters there are overall, compared to the 7+ billion humans.

Also, I like that a shapeshifter can occasionally appear from a lineage far removed from their shapeshifter ancestors. It's very rare, but it injects some mystery into how much Gaia actively decides these things, vs. being purely in the blood.

Nor should we assume that the forum is inherently working properly at any given time, nor that we can edit our frikkin' posts when we think of another paragraph.

A pentagram = five. So it could be elements, Dragons, Directions, maidens, seasons, days that you spent slogging through Cecelyne, etc. If the pentagram as a symbol of the Gaian elements goes back to the early First Age, it's entirely possible that the Autochthonians use a six-pointed one for their elements and Directions.

Yeah, the whole pentagram = Satanism = the Devil = demons thing is pure fantasy. Some neo-Pagans use the pentagram as a symbol for European paganism (perhaps related to Crowley, again) but then plenty of people also damn all Paganists as evil demon-worshipers, despite "paganism" being so broad it basically just means "not a major world religion".

A five-pointed star is not inherently "demon" anymore than a six-pointed star is inherently Jewish, or a nine-pointed star is inherently Baha'i. Or, indeed, an eight-pointed star being inherently Solar (although...

Along those lines, and in contrast to the 3E corebook line "a person of enormous potential who has never had the opportunity to exercise it",

What about someone with enormous potential who never had the need to exercise it? They lived in one of those rare safe places, or their home had an Exalted or divine protector, and then one day it isn't safe anymore and the town's protector is splattered all over the field. And all the things that person spent their life doing and learning suddenly add up to being able to do something, even if that something is more having courage...

replied to Any Interesting Homebrew for Mortal PC's?
1E and 2E Thaumaturgy was great stuff, vastly superior to what 3E gave us. Has anyone converted it to 3E?

I don't understand 3E Martial Arts very well, but IIRC mortals can learn the non-magical techniques of any non-Sidereal art, unless it has some specific restriction.

If you feel confident about converting "Charms" from 1E or 2E, there are some martial arts that were specifically written for mortals. Most "Charms" require spending Willpower in place of motes (so they're hard to use, but are designed to resemble real-world martial arts that reach...

OK I gotta read that. Thank you Lindharin.

Anyway, if that proves incorrect at least I've downloaded a whole library of homebrew. I've spent a lot of time rushing through it. I didn't want to see more Exalted libraries burned down.

Edit: It says that Google Docs and Google Sheets are unaffected. But other all document and spreadsheet formats (Microsoft, Open Office, etc.) ARE affected (at random). So are folders. Some of my public folders will be changed.

The good news - if I understand correctly - is the urls won't change drastically. It looks...

They could do Exigents instead of Solars, and just never have them reach the level of power to even consider attacking a Deathlord or wiping out the Realm. I know, power tiers, but it would be a way to keep the metaplot issues down while also showcasing new Exalted instead of "yet another typical Solar". But, it would make it more difficult to start with "ordinary" wire-fu that looks merely human.

Lioness, I haven't seen Black Sails. I generally stopped watching TV when the Sci-Fi channel became what it is now.
