replied to Lunar creation: Animal or concept first?
I start with the animal and then start incorporating more elements to the concept. Lunars are prone to having that small hint of "irony" (or lack of) behind them IMO. Like a clever character will tend to have some witty animal for totem.

I think that's a neat "cliché". But if you're more in the One-Piece-type-of-character mood, you can always give an elephant totem to a stealthy character and take the challenge. Lunars are so mutable that it wouldn't be hard to make a character like that, and maybe someone would like to roleplay her as an almost comedic character...

Don't you think a single case for both volumes would be a nice solution for this?...

Everytime this was mentioned for the previous edition, there was ALWAYS a guy who came in and said "I wouldn't buy a book called Exalted that did not include how to play the Exalted ñeñeñe".

I'm very glad this hasn't happened. I think this forum has evolved into its Raichu equivalent.

Yes, I agree and think a re-formating of the core is very necessary. Bigger books are not better books.

That would be a good balance. After all, this isn't Exalted the Mammals. ...

That's it. Mel Iran is the absolute best artist in Ex3. The other studio art is mediocre at best.

That's an awesome signature. I wonder who came out with the concept. Thanks for exploring cool invertebrates. The previous signatures were all very boring animals: a wolf... a bull, a cat...and a lizard...

Let's all ignore my last posts. There's no need to turn this into anything else. I'll delete them, but if a mod can come and destroy them I'd be grateful.

replied to Is anyone working still on Anathema for 3e?
I'd say, go ahead! I don't think anathema will be available anytime soon. People would love to try your results.

Never. But I really liked the idea of Lunars being able to make some Wyld tricks. What I saw used were the mutiple action charms where one hit seemed to sprout from several different directions. That was a neat use of dimensional magic IMO....

I think we had very similar experiences with Ex3 Croakamancer.

    Oh heck... let's see..

    Pros:

    1) Ex3 has the best iteration of the setting so far.
    2) The idea of witherings and decisives is cool...
    3) Weapon categories are way better than having separate stats for a knife, a kukri dagger and a karambit.

    Cons:

    1) Ex3 needs a ton of micro-managing to play: mote regeneration, onslaught penalties, number of turns in crash, crash reversal bonuses, double 6s if..., keep track of your anima level, aura, shifting initiatives, relative rangebands between characters to determine pools and penalties... etc...

@TheWizardofOz Yes, you are right. My reward predictions:

-I can see interesting Lunar domains as KS stretchgoals

-At least an extra Martial Art (something more niche, something like a fish style, a flying style or soemthing related to lunars ability to shapeshift)

-Extra Caul and Sha'a Oka details

-Something related to the Wyld maybe? I hope there's something in the book that is completely new nobody is expecting, and that could be expanded on as a reward

Things I'm NOT looking for: more novellas (cause I simply won't read them as pdf's), or more art (I think it only slows things, and it is well known that I haven't been impressed by this edition's art)

Things I'm looking for: Interesting setting extras put into a companion like Heirs to the Shogunate (Miracles was just more charms...), aaaand that's it......
