Onyx Path and Gencon 2023

Heya folks, I'm wondering if any fans of the brand or OP itself will be planning to attend and / or run games for Gencon this August?

For those unaware, it's a pretty massive ttrpg convention that takes place (for some godforsaken reason) in Indiana. But as gaming conventions go it's far and away the biggest in the Midwest US. The d20 crowd holds the vast majority of table real estate, but a lot of game companies use the event to sell merchandise and run games to draw in potential converts.

Mostly asking because not seeing any Onyx Path games being run on the company or fan side of things. Is Onyx Path planning to attend this year?

To my knowledge OPP hasn’t been officially at GenCon for a few years now.

I thought that might be the case, but with the pandemic having gone through neither have I, so hoping that with some kind of normalcy returning Onyx Path would as well. Sounds like I'm out of luck.

I’m not going back through the archives to find it but I remember a Monday Meetings Notes from 2019 stating they decided not to attended then and would focus on Midwinter as the companies main convention. Then the pandemic happened and since then I think the 2022 Save Against Fear was the only official presence OPP has had at a convention. That being said there’s been sort of unofficial attendance at I wanna say Tabletop Scotland last year and UKGE (currently going on right now) and I know a handful of freelancers have been at other cons (Midwinter, GenCon, Pax Unplugged).

Thanks for expounding on it, I hadn't realized there was an official statement.

Unfortunate to hear they won't be doing anything in an official capacity at Gencon, but I guess since no one is running any CoD or Exalted games anyway there's not much interest.

That is it. Keep in mind since the Panini the company hasn’t officially been to any conventions and I can’t speak for any future plans regarding Midwinter or any other conventions.
