• Spell Factors are primarily sunk into Duration and Scale, covering the area protected by the Incognito Presence spell. It has been active for almost a month, and is set to run out in a few days. It has not been Relinquished, however.

He is dropping Mage Sight before searching, since we didn't see anything else on this floor. I think that would be Wits + Investigation, with a possible +2 from unrestricted access to the area being examined, would that be correct ?

So, if Elpis want to examine the Hallow from there, to learn its various properties, would that be a Prime Knowing or Unveiling? Or would that be better as an extended Wits + Occult action?

Ok, so Elpis will start off with, "How strong is this Hallow", "What is the exact method of harvesting", and "Does the Hallow have any unusual features", androll from there. Mostly just confirming basic info to start with, and then moving on to more interesting questions. I'm using willpower, with 1 Wits + 3 Occult for 7. [9 7 1 9 3 4 1] = 2 successes

So it seems decryption is an investigation roll (I thought it would be either that or academics), but I imagine an extended one. How long would each roll take to attempt it ?

I think Mind and Prime have some translations abilities if you want it done faster. I think Prime can tell you the meaning of a particular thing and Mind actually has language as one of it’s keywords.

Edit: Does Elpis recognize any particulars of the symbols? Outside of general astrological stuff?

By itself, Prime doesn't seem to have any translation abilities, the closest thing is the domain of revelation. Mind only has Universal Language as a Weaving, even though it does have language in its purview. So I theorize two approaches that may be viable for Elpis, either a Knowing of Mind would let them know what is written or a Knowing of Mind and Prime could be used to reveal the meaning of the words. I think the latter is preferable, since it would probably be able to reveal cyphers, or at least Clash against magical ones.

Maybe its a Mysterium cypher, or a Skywatch one, in which case, does Qaf recognize it either ? Checking first might be more helpful for Elpis, since Mind is not Ruling, each non-Praxis or non-rote cast is exacting a mana toll.
