      Thank you, Thorbes!

Players, the details of the visitor from your specific city are totally up to you (within reason). The reason they went to Rochester is also up to you. I did not want create NPCs that might not fit your vision of who might be in your character's city. All that I ask is that neither goblet be recovered in this set of letters. If there are any questions. please feel free to PM or ask here.

Also as a group we should discuss how often we wish to post letters. In other games, it was weekly, but hopefully at least one a month.

        Backstory
Victoria grew up in the foster system, in and out of one bad home after another. Eventually she would fall in with gangs, using her powerful charm to become the girlfriend of the toughest gang leader, and subtly manipulating them in ways that improved their profit and influence. She allowed her boyfriends to take all the credit, and few ever noticed the invisible strings. Nick Valentino, however, noticed. Son of one of the most powerful mob families in New York, Nick began dealing directly with Vicky. And just like all the others before him, he fell for her. For four years now they've been married, and Victoria has the ear of the entire family. Shortly after her Awakening, Victoria was discovered by a gang hostile to the Valentino family. They hunted her down like an animal, but weren't prepared for her fangs. Doing what she had to do to survive, Vicky eliminated them, and learned the vital importance of secrecy. Yet the Sleepers weren't the only ones who found her. Victoria was approached by a mysterious figure in dark robes and a mask, who offered her great knowledge in exchange for service to a higher calling. She joined the Guardians of the Veil, and with them found a renewed purpose for her life. As Cobalt, she is dedicated to her Order, and through it protecting the Awakened from breaches of the Veil.

We also need to sort out a posting order. I don't mind going first. Also, I know its not necessary, but I also intend to use dice to determine the outcomes of challenges I set for my character. That way Paradoxes and such things become relevant, and because I enjoy the Mage system.

So as I understand, in my letter I will create the identity of this visitor and detail my investigation into the person. But I should keep the details limited to that of the person, and not what they did, or did not do, at Rochester, right?

Techpriest, I can already tell I will be glad to have you in this game. I never thought about doing a turn order. That is very novel. I would propose this: perhaps a turn order but a time after which a person could be "skipped" as I want to avoid the frustrations of long waits on people. Of course, we also want to avoid the frustration of people falling behind in their narrative. Wow, you are really making me think. What does everyone else think?

As to investigation, I think you stated things perfectly. I would just add that the characters can be led to suspect a given person took part in the murder or did not take part in it. What I most want to avoid at this point is how many people took part in the murder. Once the first round of letters are done, I think I can be more helpful with suggestions, once I get a taste of the settings.

I suppose the turn order will be established organically. I will write my letter to the person of my choosing, then that person will write their letter to the person of theirs, and we don't always have to write to the same person when it gets back around to us. We could also state that every letter will have the previous letters enclosed, so that everyone has read all the letters.

Alright, I'm working on mine now.

I very much look forward to it. I suppose Blaze will receive at least the first letter in addition to anyone else. Once the suspects are in play, NPCs from different settings might start to get interconnected.

                  Thanks Cire!

For those who are interested, here is the dice breakdown for my post:

I started with an Extended Investigation roll, with each roll representing one day of asking around and hitting up contacts:

                  Intelligence 3 + Investigation 3

Day One - 0 Successes: Nothing from the Guardians of the Veil
Day Two - 0 Successes: Nothing from the Consilium Herald
Day Three - 4 Successes: Outlier Cabals lead to the Hidden Market
Day Four - 1 Successes: Hidden Market leads to White Sands.

                  Spell - Aura Perception: Gnosis 3 + Mind 4 = 0 Successes

                  Spell - Read the Depths: Gnosis 3 + Mind 4 + 3 Willpower = 4 Successes

Hi everyone, glad to see we've started Very impressed with the high standard of the letters so far, just hope mine can match up to it! I'm going to start writing mine now.

As regards to a posting order of some sort, that sounds alright with me. At the moment I'm happy to do once a week, assuming that's okay with everyone else. As a possible idea for a time scale before 'skipping', assuming we are doing once a week, maybe once the latest letter has been put up the next person has something like three/four days to write theirs (unless they tell the others that they'll be late doing it etc) before it skips to the next person?

I have to say Techpriest, I like your approach to this by actually using dice to determine the outcome. May consider using this in the future

That reminds me, I forgot to list the failed roll for the Aura Perception spell. I've added it above. No sense using dice without noting the failures. I also used a point of Willpower for Read the Depths.

Barring other input, the three or four day idea seems logical. I would say the person who missed then could go at any point. Also for any letter Blaze there will be at least one week between. However, depending, Blaze might not be writing each week. There will be a letter from him next week though, with an Easter Egg for our reader Thorbes.

As long as that person makes their intention to post clear. You never know when a letter might make something someone else was writing irrelevant, so you don't want to have people working on posts for the same spot in the order.
