Alma? Zarah looks the woman over more carefully. In the dark bar, she did not recognize the bird eating woman. “Oh! I did not know you knew Alma, Zan. Alma and I have already met at the Guildhall.” Did I really just buy a drink for the bird eating woman? Zarah thought in horror.

Zarah worried about Zan’s comment. Did people really just jump into the Labyrinth without any preparation? No wonder everyone thought it was dangerous. Or perhaps, they knew something she didn’t.

Poor Zarah, things are happening rather fast for her Ten Thousand Scales sensibilities.

As Orca's spent flame piece's clatter to the ground, he reaches to his belt, drawing two more as quick as lightning. As one of the undead monsters rush him, he begins to concentrate. Time seems to slow as he raises the firearm to the bloodthirsty creature. He swings the flame piece into an aiming position, nothing existing save himself and his target.

    Time returns to normal.....

FWOOOSH!!! The fireball flies straight for the zombie's head!

Orca is going to use Lightning Draw Stance in order to instantly draw two more flame pieces. He's then going to use two motes of Kiss of the Sun Concentration in order to reduce the time it takes to aim to one tick before his shot.

So the shot would have 13 dice (unless you wanna give stunt points, which I'm unsure on how those work in a PbP game)

    That should be....eight successes.

Very well, it is now Orca's turn once more.

    (The Bar)

Zan and the woman both look on as the bartender leaves his comfortable haunt and saunters over to their table, delivering a set of drinks with a gruff explanation. Zan stares in a slittly inebriated way at Zarah, chuckles, and pats a nearby chair.

"Sit, sit, Zarah! I didn't see you. I'll be going into the Labyrinth tomorrow with Alma here, I'm just enjoying myself. You never know how things are going to go out there, so we gottam kae the most out of what time we have. Still, your friend seems very, very interested in the Forest Folk. This is pretty dangerous. Very dangerous. Oh well, as long as he pays well. What are you up to?"

    (Nergui)

Are you going to do anything or join in anywhere?

Marian's internal monologue was a buzz of activity. It seemed that he was surrounded by those that are more adept at combat than he. Of course, those more adept at combat were exactly what he would need if he were ever to accomplish his goals. It wasn't that he would manipulate them or trick them into doing things that would benefit him, but if he could get the forces of this other Deathlord to fight with those of the Bishop by playing his origins as a Deathknight true, then he could have the both of them pound each other into the ground. Picking up the pieces wouldn't be a simple matter, but that was a bridge he would have to cross when he got there. For the meantime, though...

The Captain's flame pieces were not quite as deadly as he had feared, though they were still deadly enough to end his existence should the Captain will it. The metal man was surprisingly capable of turning his arm into a weapon of some sort. That would come in handy if turned to the purpose The Prodigal now found himself pursuing. Finally the Immaculate was just as deadly as he could have hoped. He would have to tread carefully with all of them because any of them could defeat him almost as easily as they were defeating these creatures.

As his thoughts whir through his head, the Daybreak will back slowly away from the fight with his staff at the ready. He is prepared to attempt to deflect blows that come his way, but he is not going to attempt to attack the creatures. He was first and foremost a scholar and scholars were unsuited to combat. That was something he might have to change...

Yeah, I really didn't do anything for combat with this guy. I have Melee Essence Triumphant and Elegant Flowing Deflection only for the purpose of making sure he doesn't get wrecked. He could use the excellency to attack, but I do not think that is his style. Guard and Move, or Move and Guard. Whatever order works best at this point.

Since she had some time to kill before dinner, Zarah sits at the bar and order herself a drink. She tells the bartender, "Send a round to the couple sitting at the table over there." She nods in the direction of Zan.

It would be seven, as the dice are added to the DV itself, so, yes, your DV is increased to the point that you'd not be hit.

It is now Prodigal's turn once more.

Desperately reminding herself that it is unbecoming of a Monk (even a defrocked one!) to panic in the face of pus engorged, maggot infested, presumably undead monstrosities, Xisa proceeded to roll and dip around the horrid, spidery long hands.

I am not going to miss this confusing ass combat system, come Ex3. Okay to start out I can use the stunt dies to up my Dodge DV up to either six or seven, whichever one beats the 6 Success attack.

The bartender nods gruffly, producing several bottles, and then holding out a thick hand for payment. When he is paid, his face lightens, and he grunts a "Pleasure d'ing businss, Miss," tapping his brow in a sort of salute.

(The woman's intentions in the scene are to merely enjoy herself, she seems to be under a great deal of stress and she is presently enjoying herself with the inebriated Zan.)

    (Alleyway)

    (Nice, that's a 2 die stunt, Revenge)

Xisa clocks the shambler in the chest, smashing a hole in the person with a sickly crunching sound, and a roaring shockwave of wind blew off the turbans of the remaining shamblers while putting out the fires of the other casualties. What Xisa saw was horrifying: Rotten, green flesh, sunken, yellow eyes, flesh drawn back with disease and age, revealing long, fang-like teeth and long, grasping fingers, ready to grab and eat to satiate their endless hunger.

They lunge at Xisa, hititng for 6 suxx. The other tries to o the same, but fails, only rolling 4 suxx. What will you do, Xisa?

Perhaps whatever spark of self-defense they have is becoming agitated, perhaps the deaths of their fellows is spurring them to further predation. Who knows?

    Xisa's turn.
((Blehh, sorry for the delay, work had me going in circles))

Xisa glanced around at her erstwhile allies before leaping high into the air. Complete unknowns, though there was something strangely familiar about the one with the flamepieces. Unimportant, she focused on her enemies. From the look of things they were pack hunters, the absolute worst thing was let them get organized or disperse to predate upon the unprepared civillians. She knew of one fairly idiot proof method of preventing both.

She (quite literally leapt) into the fray, kicking one shambler in the head, aiming to send it flying into it's allies by way of the wind rushing from her now glowing boots. Around that moment, it occurred to her that it might help to ascertain just what exactly she was kicking.

Dex+Melee, 7d10, http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4822074/, 5 Hits. Also Dragon Graced Weapon takes two dice away from the the Shamblers next action.

Mushrooms? Zarah recently picks up the bottle of Rotgut and pulls the cork and takes a wiff. The nauseated stench from the cork makes her eyes water. Did the bartender give me the cleaner instead? She quickly recorks the rotgut. I bet Orca would drink this.

“I’ll take this bottle and one of the mead,” Zarah says in a brisk manner. She glances over at Zan and the woman at the table.

The bartender eyes narrow, and he looks at Zarah sternly.

"We don't have that Southern fizz-water here, Miss. We have mead, rotgut, and cleanser. I'd recommend not drinking too much of the latter, though. You'd go blind if you do," he says, taking out a dark bottle and placing it next to her on the bar. The bottle has a label in Skytongue labeling it as Rackhnar's River-Rot, brewed from lichen and mushrooms in the fine year of 733.

Zan is laughing and chatting with the woman, discussing prior exploits in the Labyrinth, while the woman nods and smiles sleepily.

"Ah, see. that's the thing, y-y-y-ya get a Humba on yer arse, that's a whole weekend of trouble just waiting for yeh," he slurs, downing another drink, while the woman laughs at his non-joke.

    What will you do?

[OoC: Yes, her mouth is stretching out far longer than normal, even if only for moments at a time.]

"Good afternoon! Do you have a couple of bottles of red and white wine I can procure? I neglected to inquire what my host is serving for dinner tonight, so I want to be prepared." Zarah keeps an eye on Zan and his companion.

The woman's mouth is unnaturally wider?

Zarah is directed to the tavern by a rosy-cheeked lad with a gigantic sled dog in tow. She finds Zan there, conversing with a pale woman in bleached armor.

The pair seems to be slightly inebriated, and the woman's mouth seems to be stretching far wider for a few moments than it ought to. Well, that's a mite off.

    What will you do?

After taking care of her business at the Ironworks and biding the Lunar Captain farewell, Zarah searched the streets of Last Chance for the tavern she was at earlier. This town desperately needs street signs, she thinks. Zarah gives up and heads into the nearest tea house for directions.

"Excuse me. Can you direct me to the Tavern?" Surely a town so small doesn't have more than one tavern.

Zadro looks coolly at Merciful as he lays out his plans and his promises.

"You can get me such a thing. I know that there are powerful, dangerous beasts in the Labyrinth, but such a thing," he says, stroking his chin.

"So, tell me thi,s then, madam. If you are not a guilder, then what is your affiliation. Surely you cannot be a freelance entrepreneur. You couldn't have such "Connections" is you were, so tell me, who are these allies you profess to have?" he asks, looking over his spindled fingers.
