Kvitebjørn Kong Valemon - LYNX: He brings to mind an older version of her brother, which firmly places him in the category of annoying. She does make an effort to be friendly to him, however. Something of a mix between extending her promise to try to get along with her brother and solidarity for being in the same Order.

    Please comment.
    Sounds good to me.

I would love to! I have to write a letter of recommendation tonight or tomorrow for someone related to work stuff, so I don't know if tomorrow is realistic. But I will try to get us up and running in the next few days.

Question for you: What kind of cabal do you think your mentor, Vivian, would be in? What kinds of Mysteries do you see her being Obsessed with? I have a few ideas but since you came up with the NPC, I thought you might be able to help me brainstorm her connections with other mages.

FYI, when you have time, you have some minor formatting issues on your character sheet post and I think you still have a few things copy/pasted from Lynx's background (unless Morganna also happens to be the same age and have several other traits in common like a bisexual orientation).

If you found it online, you can use BBCode to link directly to the picture. If it’s not posted online, you can upload to Imgur or some other photo hosting website and then use a direct link to that.

          • Okay, I've looked over my rotes and praxes, and this is my current selection.

            Praxes
            • Coaxing the Spirits (Spirit ●)
            • Know Spirit (Spirit ●)
            Rotes
            • Knit (Life ●●●, Empathy)
            • Body Control (Life ●●, Survival)
            • Transform Life (Life ●●●, Animal Ken)
I replaced Craftsman's Eye with Knit because, as the only life mage in the party, somebody needs to know how to mend injuries properly, and because it is a rather Reach-heavy spell. Chose Empathy as rote skill because Lynx is an empathetic fella. Also changed Transform Life from Survival to Animal Ken, to better tie in his connection with animals.

These all sound great to me.

When you have time, can you update your new character sheet (post #1173, here on p. 79).

Also, the link in your signature line still goes to your old character sheet. You may want to consider updating that, just out of convenience for yourself, but it's not a necessity. I keep the direct link to all of the current character sheets on post #1 of this thread.

                • Cool, thanks.

I am drafting my Prologue post, which is mostly fluff to set the tone of the story and to get us in the mood for playing again. After that, I will make an introductory post for the first chapter and set the initial scene, and leave prompts for you all to respond to.

I'm excited to start playing again!!

                  • Got some links! I've also added a dot of Resolve, added Know Nature as a Praxis, and swapped a dot of Dream for one of Shadow Name. And I think that takes care of everything for me!

                    General Links
Places of Worship: The Heir's general thesis is that all faiths point toward a greater Supernal Truth (in that the Gods actually exist in the Supernal), but even Mages have difficulty perceiving it because it requires viewing multiple Paths at once (he may or may not be right about that). Goetia, spirits, ghosts, shadow names, and nimbuses are all emanations of the greater truth in his view. He's very protective of all religious spaces as a result, even those who look down upon his own faith.
Wild Spaces: These are one of the places the Gods and the Nymphs inhabit and the Heir prefers to relax in them when he needs to clear his head. Probably something he would get along with Lynx about, although they would have different perspectives on why its important.
Homes: These are the other important place that Gods inhabit, albeit the less well-known ones in pop culture. The Heir loathes violating homes and Sanctums, even if it would be the most expedient way to get something done.

                    Specific Links
Fatewise: The Heir would be VERY interested in finding out what happened to Jack and trying to fit Changelings/the Fae into his idiosyncratic metaphysics. Also, FATE is a significant belief for him, so taking that on as a Shadow Name is something that would intrigue him. Its possible that he taught or tutored her as Rene.
The Olympians: The Heir puts special weight on Shadow Names tied to his faith, believing that the Mages using them are channeling the Gods from the Supernal. He tends to regard everything the Olympians do as significant, above and beyond their prominence on the Council. That doesn't necessarily mean he defers to their wishes, Heroes quarreling with Gods is a fixture of Hellenic myth, after all, but he pays very close attention to the leads they give and the causes they champion.
The Mythologos: The Heir has been actively pursuing closer ties with this Column, hoping they will become allies (and Allies) in the future. Homer and Dante are the two he is drawn most to.

                      • I went and found new pictures for Lynx, mostly because I wasn't really happy with the one I'd chosen beforehand. Basically a younger Brian from Dream Daddy.

Sure thing! I fixed the date in my IC post too, haha.

FYI, I think your spell casting roll used the wrong rules. Mage the Awakening rolls, by default, reroll on 10 only and hit on 8 or higher. The roll you used hits on 7 or higher and retools on 9 or higher. It didn’t matter here but I think the expression you use is Xd10o10h8.

Kvitebjørn Kong Valemon - Also editing to make something clearer for you specifically. I am going to say that in this new iteration of the game, the other PCs (Moonstone, Phoenix, Dr. Asphodel, Ouroboros Ophis, and Ragnar) all still Awakened and exist in this game; however, Lynx never met them except at the emergency Consilium meeting. Their histories and the events of the previous game still happened, you just weren't a part of them. I am primarily making this decision because if any of the other players later show up and decide they would still like to play, it will be easier to reintegrate them into the game.

Yeah, I honestly forgot how to use Orokos. If I'd gotten a success on 7 or rerolled on 9, I'd have rerolled the whole thing anyway.

Re: the others, sure thing! I didn't really have them in mind anyway, since this is a reboot of sorts.

                            • Actually, that does raise a question... which of the characters in the first post would we already know? I'm keeping track of what the Heir knows versus what I know.

Also, last change before we get rolling, I'm going to swap the Ghost Summons rote for Speak With Dead (but keep the rote's name the same).

Cleaned up the character sheet. Bi wasn't in the original concept but when I saw it on the cut and paste I thought it interesting enough to leave it.

I'm honestly drawing a blank. I would expect that the most interesting options would be either in the former Hierarch cabal or the new hierarchs' cabal. I mean I have the basic concept as Obrimos who crafts items and is tied with Arthurian myth and is a take on the Lady of the Lake. Honestly, I have the character filed as develop as needed.
