Hi everyone! Just formally posting here to say that unfortunately it looks like we will be going on hiatus again. Because only one person responded affirmatively with a desire to resume playing in the near future, we will go on an indefinite hiatus again.

If more people want to resume after a set period (in weeks to months from now), please reply here and say so. If other people contact me down the road with interest, I’m open to restarting this later as well.

Hope you are all doing well and staying safe and healthy.

Not that it matters much if the Storyteller can't do it, but I'm in the same boat. Voice is a tough thing for me to do at the best of times and these are not the best of times.

I'm... in a not-great situation right now (nothing dangerous, to be clear, just rife with stress and complications). I still want to play, but probably will need a hiatus for at least a couple of weeks before I'm able to give the game the thought and time it deserves.

    Thank you all.
Just wanted to say that I’m sorry to hear this but I completely understand. Wishing you the best with your personal matters. Reach out anytime in the future if your situation changes and you want to play in a game again.

Hi everyone! I have been busy at work, which has been requiring me to do extra work in the evening when I get home and making it harder for me to keep up the pace. It appears that I’m not the only one having a hard time keeping up with the game, but I am definitely still interested in playing if enough of you want to keep it up.

Due to my own constraints on my time, I unfortunately can’t do a voice game over Discord because I only have time to play with one game in real time every 3-4 weeks and I’m already playing in one with my friends. So my choices are asynchronous via posting, or not at all.

I would like everyone to weigh in on whether to continue and reevaluate our pace. Please let me know before this time next week whether you want to keep playing or put the game on hiatus again, either for a specified amount of time or indefinitely. If we have at least 3, we can keep playing. If I don’t hear from you, I will count that as a no. Let me know if anyone has questions or concerns.

Seems everyone's is in the same situation. Do we want to keep this going for a bit and think about reconvening via voice over discord? By the time we all come up for air, we might be able to get Lynx back.

Likewise, life is punching me in the gut right now. I'm still here, but I will be slow to reply.

Ok, thanks for being patient with me.

My daughter just turned 2 this weekend and I have been busy with my family stuff. I think things have slowed down again and I’m ready to get us back up and moving. I will try to post in the next day or two, and I’ll try to be mindful of giving you storyteller prompts and things to give us a sense of direction without making it too linear.

DArchon5 - You get an arcane beat for the dramatic failure in a spell roll, not a regular beat. But I think that’s an awesome time to do it.

Rene's going to try going out to talk to her parents, as well as recasting the Divination Rote to keep an eye on everyone. It has enough Reach to burn on the extra Spell Control.

Edit: Wow, Rene tempted Fate a little too hard there. She'll be taking a Dramatic Failure on the Divination roll.

I'm dealing with the fundamental inadequacy of the Texas power grid's emergency preparedness at the moment, so might not have an answer for a bit as for what actually do.

However, I don't feel like it's been too linear. We're still in the intro phase. I don't necessarily have a lot of sense of what to go out and do on my own ^^.

Hi all. I've been realizing this week that I feel like I've brought us in a direction in the story that is really linear and that doesn't give you much room for making autonomous decisions. As a result, I'm feeling like I've written us into a bit of a corner and it's not giving you all many opportunities to play off of each other, which results in me needing to do more of the work with keeping us moving. Consequently, I'm finding myself feeling like I can't really post replies to individual characters and instead need to wait until you all post so I can introduce the next step.

I'd like to ask here what you all are thinking of what your characters might want to do over the next 24 hours given the current situation. What kind of questions do you think your characters have or what do you think they would want to do next?

Also, other than the slower pace of posting and action, can I get some feedback on what things you're enjoying so far, and what things you'd like me to change? I wanted to get some feedback as we go along so I can try to make the game more dynamic and interesting.

Well, I did a dumb and completely forgot that Rotes and Praxis don't cost Mana for not being Ruling, so I am going to take a point of Mana back for Outward Inward Eye (and I'm about to cast it again).

Sure, no worries. Just edit your character sheet accordingly here on the forums.
