After playing a sidereal for over a year the target number 6 thing is a subtle bonus that eeks out one or two extra successes on rolls with a decent number already. If you want to help low dice pools your better off lowering the difficulty, I don't think that'd feel too rewarding to do " you're not good at this ability, here let me lower the difficulty." So as a whole I like the target number 6 thing more for this game design wise.
I could easily pick up the pace for a faster schedule being unemployed and all (interview Monday keep your fingers crossed), but I don't want a faster schedule to force people out.
