Roseblack is a five point ally. It will take you five letters actively working on your ally.

Hmmm.. I'll have to check Aisa's character sheet. Did you take mnemon as an ally, BlueWinds.

I'm working on upgrading my Contacts 1 into Contacts 2. I'll mention that explicitly in my PM next time.

Looking through the situation more (and actually writing my response), I'm actually working for Reputation 2 instead. Contacts is the fallback if N'neef doesn't bite (or Iphen remains obstinate).

A question! The recruitment thread lists the one trying to get into the Imperial Manse as V'Neef Bijar, first name Bijar and a member of House V'Neef.

The letter mentions the one trying to get into the Imperial Manse is V'Neef with no first name which indicates the V'Neef, first of her name, daughter of the Empress, imperial princess and head of House V'Neef.

I just want to determine whether that was or wasn't a mistake before I contemplate a course of action!

Oh, man. I got my V'Neefs confused. It is one of her daughters that is trying to unlock the manse. I'll update Ryo's letter after dinner. Basically, the same thing happens, just with Bijar.

Oh dear, so did I. Which probably explains why I was being sneaky and trying to attract her attention - I thought Aisa was dealing with the head of a Great House, which seemed like a grand opportunity!

Do you want to write it off as "Ryu was flustered by the angry dynast and didn't explain what he meant properly," and we can all carry on with some IC confusion, or retcon the information given (and I'll tweak that particular part of Aisa's action for this week a little), or something else?

We will just roll with it in character. Ryo spends his time avoiding most high status Dragonblooded, thus has never seen either V'cleef before this incident. Titus will never let Ryo live this confusion down. Tweak your character's actions as you see fit, BlueWinds

It wouldn't be a wonderandawe game without some sort of major lore screw up. My quest character still needs to invite Disguise of a New Face and move Wallport to the opposite coast.

Influence seems to be Reputation, per Ex2 Core page 112.

BlueWinds seems to be ready for the next letter. Eura is close. So far everyone has sent me around three actions per month, which includes background actions.

I never realized how close the two backgrounds were. Reputation has a mechanical bonus but influence is far stronger plot wise. Influence is better so I agree with going for that instead.influence 2 is home city-state or satrapy so Cherak, Cathak is a blessed isle family :P.
