Appendix: Storypath Ultra
For those who wish to upgrade their They Came From games to the Storypath Ultra system, this is the chapter for you. The appendix contains the full Storypath Ultra system adapted for They Came From, including new terms, updated systems, and more. Though the chapters in this book look to the quick play system for their basis, Storypath Ultra is easy to adopt should you wish to do so.
To which rules do you refer?
The bulk of this book — quick play and each genre chapter — uses the Storypath system from the prior They Came From releases, pared down to the quick play version. In some cases we refer to terms from both Storypath and Storypath Ultra for clarity (such as considering Conditions as being equivalent to Status Effects), but if you already know the Storypath system, you’ll be able to use the content in this book. And if you don’t, you now have a quick play version of Storypath for your one-shots and Storypath Ultra should you wish to construct a campaign.In some cases, you’ll identify some similarity between Archetypes in this book and some from others previous They Came Froms. A Knave, a Scoundrel, and a Charlatan may all seem similar, but they’re distinct for their genres. Despite this, you can easily transfer Tropes and Quips from the games containing their counterparts!
