Not knowing who she was, I watched almost all (and will likely finish when time permits) of her explanation video. The tweet seemed benign to me. Authors should be able to reach their audience, even those who say legitimately terrible things. AI is powerful enough that a function could be created that groups everyone who is part of an outrage mob and puts their communication on the subject into the recycle bin of the internet. Nobody gets cancelled and everyone is allowed to carry on with their lives.

Edit: Also, Ampersand is a cool name for an alien.

Yea, it was pretty crazy. I felt bad for her. I loved her videos. Maybe one of these days she'll come back..

Oh, she wrote a couple of books that are really good too! Axioms End and The Truth of the Divine. I recommend em!

She was basically bullied off the Internet.

Here's an article I found about it.

She also released a video shortly after, and she put up a statement on her Patreon.

While I spend a lot more time watching longform podcasts like Lex Fridman's, I like Body Language Ghost and others who review interviews with public figures, pointing out non-verbal cues.

Hard to choose. I like to watch different video of making and taking photo by professionals. I like to use different photo and video editing too. One of them I found via article https://skylum.com/blog/guide-to-the...m-alternatives Photo editing software also helps you to resize or scale your images based on your specific size requirements. This feature can be helpful for adjusting the height and width of your images according to your needs.

Sounds like you watch as much YouTube as I do. Dan Olson is amazing. Renegade Cut is also making some great videos these days.

Oh, I know!! I feel bad for her. Hopefully she continues to write though, her two novels are pretty good!

As for me, aside from the ones mentioned above, I like Jenny Nicholson, Maggie Mae Fish, Patrick H. Willems, (FilmJoy(Movies with Mikey), Watcher(gotta love Ryan and Shane from Unsolved), Quinton Reviews, Mr. Sunday Movies, How To Drink (Greg is a gamer too), Beau of the Fifth Column, ThoughtSlime, GrayStillPlays, Mat Pat, the list could go on...lol

I really like the Try Guys too and what's been going on with them this past week has been so crazy...

Anyway, if you need me to list more I can...

I tend to be weary of YouTube political channels since a lot of them are babies first polemic but Lindley was solid. Shame really.

I like to watch a lot of politically oriented YouTube channels, so Iโ€™ll spare everybody by not mentioning those. As for more entertainment related channels, I like Shad Brooks quite a bit and his channel Shadiversity. He talks about history, fantasy and sci-fi, movies and shows, medieval combat, sword fighting, that kind of geeky stuff.

NicoB. I don't know if he's the funniest or the best LetsPlayer on YouTube. He most likely is not. I also cringe at a minority of the examples of his (likely pretty mainstream) choices of joke content, word choice and views of the world. And god knows there's the bias that he was my introduction to LetsPlays sometime in the impressionable period of my late teens and still my favorite.

But I love him and the community he has. He's a funny, creative, and kind guy who's good at setting boundaries. And he and his mods have expertly pruned together a YouTube comment section that is genuinely not a shitty hellscape, the utter miracle workers.

He genuinely loves what he's doing and does lots of improv, focusing on using the impressive amateur voice-acting range he has built up over the past decade and his impressive character consistency between ad-lib jokes. How many other let's players have made the funny voices they use into such recognizable archetypes in their fanbase that they got their own jankily-animated, but superbly-written dramedy spinoff series?
