While it feels like we're getting into politics here... why are you presuming that Texans weren't offered good alternative candidates?

For the record, I think that was an accurate assessment of things. It matches what I’ve seen and heard. It’s very much not the whole story, but at least from my perspective, it’s a good chunk.

Edit: I think it comes down to Texas both being well known to be conservative, and thus not likely to see a Democrat win, and the Texas isn’t a priority on the National level. The guy they have here…basically always seems to have something that grates against the various beliefs that goes into conservative thought. He is never going to sway the right leaning moderates in any meaningful way. I’m of the opinion that if the Democrats actually tried campaigning like they do elsewhere, we could see Texas swing. Not anything close to a guarantee though. I’ve also found…that people really don’t know much about or understand liberal philosophy besides whatever crazy thing is happening in California or whatever their pastor or Fox News told them.

No no, that’s true too. Our counties are…wacky. But we are for some reason getting a large influx of people from blue states. Might cause more gerrymandering, depending on where they settle.

If I made an inaccurate statement about something and learned about it. I would want to correct it asap and having a Governor saying that recent victims were illegal residents and they were not is poor form and adds more salt to the wounds of the loved ones who suffered such a tradegy. But that is just me.

Fatphobia is an asburd term to shout out at people who want to lose weight and improve there quality of life and reduce the risks of certain health problems. At times I wonder if we are slipping into bizarro world when I hear that statement.

My favorite is when they were angered that they didn't cast a real 600 pound man in the movie The Whale that Brandon Fraizer won an award for and I'm thinking is that there is a reason why you don't see to many 600 pound people in general. They are in very poor health because the human body isn't meant to support that much weight.
