So can all the people who have been like "OMG nWoD is going to get axed now!!!" in this thread step forward for a moment, I got some delicious crow buffet ready for you (sorry, I'm somewhat drunk after the company christmas party and I just couldn't resist)

    That's a real pity.

That's my big question. I don't know how much of the OP staff was working on VtM4 (I'd assume not many, since it was in such a preliminary phase), but I'd hate to see the release schedule for CoD books slow down because freelancers are instead focusing their efforts on WoD plans. I'll also be curious to see if the WoD20 books continue release at the same clip.

Yeah, I don't think I could have hoped for a better outcome! The name is going to take a little getting used to, but it'll make it much less confusing for new players, which is a good thing in my book.

this is a really surprisingly great outcome. nWoD, rather than the shallow grave a lot of people thought it was destined for, gets a new name and a new lease on life, and Onyx Path basically gets to keep on keeping on. The only thing they are forced to give up with the sale is the 4th ed games that they hadn't gotten to far on anyway. Meanwhile, White Wolf will be putting out new games, and has demonstrated with this move, if absolutely nothing else, respect for an existing, fan favorite partner. this is pretty much a win win all around. hard to see how this could have resolved any more amicably or ideally.

I don't think so. Guys previously working on WoD 20, will STILL be working on WoD 20.

Guys working on 4E, will come from WW Publishing/Paradox directly, not OP.

Which of course no one could ever possibly mistake to mean "Call of Duty", that would just be crazy

This is all exciting news. My big question is how much crossover is there currently between the writers and editors working on the WoD and CofD. I'm assuming that, if it's not the case already, the guys who were previously working on WoD20 and 4e will now be moving over to White Wolf Publishing. Hopefully this means WW will bring new fresh blood into bringing new ideas into the WoD, and OP will be able to better devote their resources to CoD rather than having to split them across three different editions of books.
