Well the latest WoW expansion was called Warlords of Draenor so... yeah, we're already deep in "which XoX are we talking about right now?" territory anyway

I'm just dreading being in more general forums and causing confusion with the Call of Duty series (since, you know CoD... at least people aren't likely to think I mean any of the other things CoD stands for).

I just realized I would kill for a World of Darkness board game like those seen in my local Barnes and Noble.

It's far from suicide, the market is just not solid enough for a company to exclusively do that because stuff like delays and other hiccups eats directly into your reserve. That's what you're seeing in the market now, companies like OPP who are only doing RPG have to move into PoD because it's the simplest way to manage the risk, while companies like Fantasy Flight Games who are also big in boardgames or now Paradox who have a ton of revenue coming in from computer games can very well still put the books out in a more traditional way because they are more diverse, so if the RPG books eat more money than they give one month, they can just shrug and say "Whatever, we'll get it back in a month or two".

Change is definitely scary, but I also see this as positive change.

Long live the Chronicles of Darkness!

    Downloading the new PDF now.

So Onyx Path will continue working on the CofD lines(yay!), and the CWOD 20th Anniversary lines(Yay!), as well as their own stuff(Scion, Aberrant, Pugmire).

While White Wolf Publishing will be handling all the 4th edition books(Yay!) from the WoD going forward.

    I like it.

And physical books to be in stores again? Excellent!

Announced today at a panel at the Tenebrae Noctis Convention in Germany. We Europeans love our physical books. SR5 in German was published for less than 20 EUR cover price. Apparently, the publisher is still doing well. Also, in Germany at least we have laws that permit book sales only at cover price (neither more nor less expensive).

I'll be honest, that makes the collector in me really happy!

You are being dramatic. If the can afford it they are doing well. It will be good for the Ip as well, brand recognition and all.

The most shocking announcement is that cWoD v4 will be developed in-house by WW and will cling to the idea of one metaplot.
On the other hand they announced they will shift focus to Europe, and as a european that makes me happy.

There a lots of news coming in right now from @TenebraeNoctis on twitter. It's fans reporting from panels at the Tenebrae Noctis convention in Germany. A lot of it sounds very promising. Not sure though, if it's alright to post those news here, though. Some of it should better be announced by Onyx Path officially, me thinks.

Big announcement - New World of Darkness becomes Chronicles of Darkness!

Is this mean I from World of Darkness Storyteller are now changed in to Chronicles of Darkness Chronicler?

Well, that minor cosmetic alteration wasn't nearly as bad as anyone feared.

"Chronicles of Darkness" sits ill as a title mostly due to unfamiliarity, but ultimately nothing has changed. I'm sure it'll grow on me
