Paradox Interactive (the Crusader Kings people, not the Conan/Mutant Chronicles ones) buy the White Wolf properties [Merged x10]

Interesting. Paradox is one of the few people who I think actually could make an Exalted videogame (and for that matter, maybe they're actually thinking about it? Exalted -- viewed from a grand strategy level -- is the WW property that seems closest to the stuff Paradox already makes.)
If they were eg. interested in making a fantasy-oriented spinoff for Crusader Kings based on an established property, Exalted would be a logical place to look.

Paradox has its roots in Target Games that used to be Äventyrsspel, the company that ushered in the RPG (pen and paper) explosion in Sweden with games such as Drakar & Demoner and Mutant. Some of their games later made some splashes abroad, such as Kult (gnostic Clive Barker inspired horror) and Mutant: Chronicles (uff, basically a W40K ripoff). If not for them, I wouldn't be here on these boards. RPG's later died down and (then) Target Games diversified, became Paradox, that split in twain ... But their loves still remain. Heck, one of the Paradoxes owns the Conan License.
Yeah, they're huge nerds and I'm not worried at all. They basically ARE(/were) my PnP RPG childhood. The only problem I can foresee is that they'd be TOO interested in being involved.
Or maybe corporate greed has taken over and they have become monsters, shattering my soul forever. Okay ... maybe a little worried. But ... I can't really see that happening. MEGA-nerds, guys!

I don't think Exalted has the name recognition and brand potential for that (but who knows? Never say never, especially with Paradox). I'm pretty sure they've mainly done this for WoD, Bloodlines is still running amazingly strong on Steam for a title that old and the buzz around the WoD MMO has never really died down

As long as OPP is allowed to keep doing what they're doing with Exalted, cWoD, and nWoD (as separate WoDs), Wiki is restored, and they don't take away our forums again, I doubt I'll mind or notice.
But I'm me, so right now I'm worried about all that.She/Her. I am literal-minded and write literally. If I don't say something explicitly, please never assume I implied it. The only exception is if I try to make a joke.My point of view may be different from yours but is equally valid.

The hilarity of explaining to your fanbase that the guy who broke reality was the one without Charms is an added bonus.
"I do not pay my soldiers, gold magically appears in my pockets instead because maintenance is for lesser beings."
On a bit more serious note, I'm guessing the release schedules, when they appear will be more normal compared to PI's own IP's. A new book per ip every 3-5 months would be a bit much.
“I have long since forsaken mortal blood. It offers me nothing but the stale taste of mayflies. I have partaken of Luna's ever-changing children and dined on the scholars of Magic. I have bled monsters, born and created. No more. Tonight I drink the blood of gods and slake my thirst for another thousand years of night.”

Feel my pain every time he streams.
But if really want to see his skills, watch him playing Dance Dance Revolution.
There is a good reason he has that name. That man is a dancing-machine that occasionaly conquers the world.
Anyway, I guess at this point we can only wait for either a statement from Onyx Path or Paradox. And if we don't like the answer, there are always the official forums to complain or protest or just plain beg.

Which is what I suspect I'll be doing if I don't like the answer.
Hell, they're already following an open development form quite similar to Onyx Path with their own titles. Weekly Developer Diaries explaining and teasing new features for their games or just explaining some of their reasoning behind them.
Even their DLC's nearly drop with a frequency close to WoD supplements.
This could work out splendidly. Let cautious optimism be the name of the game.

So here's a suggestion: if you're worried about it, go to the new White Wolf Publishing website, right click on the Contact Us link at the bottom, copy the email address, paste it in the "To" line of an email, and tell them your concerns and hopes (but do so POLITELY - no curse words, no matter how strong your emotions are). It's possible they've made up their minds; it's also possible that they haven't. A strong showing of emails from users emailing them, of fans reaching out and expressing what they want to see, will probably go a lot further than lamenting the possible dark futures and disasters on here. That isn't to say stop expressing on here, as the developers and others who are part of the negotiations with the new firm will still see your comments and may take those concerns to heart, but sending a direct message to the new White Wolf Publishing about your wishes to see Onyx Path continue licensing and making the great games that they're making will also help them see that there's a loyal fanbase willing to throw money at their shiny new IP as long as the tabletop products are still coming out. Is there an item that's been put on the schedule or promised for the distant future (in the latter case, much of the Exalted stuff, like material detailing new Exalt types), that you want to make sure still comes out? Mention it specifically. A particular favorite game you don't want cut? Spell it out for them.
They are a business; they will make the decisions they think are best for business. If they are told that Onyx Path is the best place to license their IPs to, they will probably think long and hard about leaving the licenses as is, and maybe even giving OP more control over the lines.
