Let me put out a counter argument.

You see anything about the New World of Darkness in the news? No?

I've seen something about one World of Darkness, and it doesn't look like the new World at all.

Does this make me think Paradox doesn't respect the IP? Yeah.

Now, with that said, that's nothing but rumormongering. The simple fact is that we don't know shit about what's going on, and we can't react at all until we do. The best we can do is sit, wait, and hope for the best.

But please understand why some of us are pessimistic.

Add to that: Paradox already is talking to By Night Studios, publishers of the LARP rules. They seem to be presently in negotiations. If they are consolidating, that might not bode well for OPP.

I blame it upon Masquerade being what was used as the source material for the video games putting them as more notable in the public eye.

I would definitely be disappointed if New got canceled due to simple lack of notoriety or claim to fame as a cost saving measure.

To give that a more positive (but of course just as speculative) spin: Paradox Interactive makes computer games. The oWoD is a known brand in computer gaming, nWoD isn't. Tons of people who have never heard of nWoD, who even may well have never played any tabletop RPG at all, still know what the World of Darkness is about, so it's only natural that this is the news they're focusing on. That doesn't mean that they don't respect nWoD, Exalted and so on, I think it's just as possible (and in my opinion, quite likely) that they'll let the other gamelines continue running as they have before, since they've clearly made this move so they can make oWoD computer games, that's the core IP they're concerned with so this is what the news will be about.

I do understand, espescially since this is your job (and a job I'm kinda jealous about xD)

However what news are you referring to? I assume in the Paradox/WW announcements but I don't see anything about either cWoD or nWoD to be honest. The only thing I see is "White Wolf Publishing is a licensing business that owns and manages intellectual properties including World of Darkness, Vampire: The Masquerade and Werewolf: The Apocalypse." and this doesn't tell us much as "World of Darkness" could refer to both and I'm pretty sure it's only because they didn't want to quote the many games under the IP purview. I could be wrong though.

They made great games, the best city builder ever (Cities: Skyline), a very good, acclaimed old school RPG (Pillars of Eternity) and many other well received games being strategy or tactical (Europa Universalis, Magicka 2, Crusader Kings etc...) they are pretty well renowned in the gaming community (a lot more trusted than CCP since even their player base are often unhappy with them haha)
