The video games likely skew results as well.

That's because it hasn't been nearly as translated as Masquerade was.

I've known people who would have probably been in that minority. They kinda were edition warrior sorts... CoD was not WoD, so it must be all that is bad. Each has their own charm, and it's a different thing entirely (part of the reason I'm glad the namechange).

I'm ok with that, as long as it doesn't get too simulationist with lots of charts and graphs to reference while playing. I was a hardcore DnD 2e player when I first saw the storyteller system and I'd like to get the same feeling from 4e WoD material as I got from seeing the 1e system. Meaning I want it to be something I'd actively like to use, not see it as "ughh, not another new system to wrap my head around". As an example I love the Warhammer 40k rpg setting, but I would have a hard time adjusting to that game's rules system and I hope WoD4th stays away from that model.
Totally with you. Plus, I just don't seem to have the drive to learn a totally new system. I like things to be simple these days... I mean, I always have, but you know what I mean.

Changing an attack into a single dice-roll when CofD came out, instead of the potential 4 it was initially was huge for me. And don't get me started on multiple actions.

The one thing in his statement that really bothered me was this:

Does this mean the new White Wolf will be changing the system?

And then my character, as shockingly incompetent as he seemed because of systematic differences, was struck by some eldritch terror and survived with no lasting harm where I knew that had the same strike landed in the non-d20 system it would have assuredly left lasting impact if not resulting in immediate, and expected, death.
Ug...sorry to hear that. Yea, it always seems weird to me when a game switches systems like that. It's just too jarring...

    Thats a good point!

~18 years, but really since revised is just minor alterations on the original system or rules the WoD rule-system has been in use without (what I consider) major changes for more like 25 years.

I guess what I'm saying is, they want to update it further(like NWoD did), then I'd be ok with it. But a drastic system overhaul might ruin it for me. That said, I have gamed in years at this point, so it really doesn't matter if I like it or not. Just my knee jerk reaction.

I'll only accept Risus WoD. :P Hee hee...

The Gurps one was ok, never got into the Monte Cook one though....but I'm not a big D20 fan...
