Edit Spam Excess

I'm a bit curious if whatever filter it is that's doing this is slowly learning individual posters aren't spam if they get OKed by mods enough? I've edited a few posts without it happening recently, and while I could try to edit a lot to see if this is the case, I'm curious if the mods have noticed a larger trend here; esp. if it seems to hit specific users more than others.

It's not ideal, but if the solution is just to post and edit as much as you normally do until the system remembers to stop flagging you, it would be good to know that's a viable solution.

I am having similar problems to Erinys', compunded by some messing up on my part as I was unaware of this particular issue. I made a post with a couple of links, it got flagged as spam for approval, I couldn't edit the links out cause it was flagged; and when I tried to make a new post that didn't include the links, it was also flagged as spam.

On the thread where I triggered the spam filter, I was allowed to post a second post.

That post is about 4 hours after the one that is unapproved.

I find I'm getting flagged for edits more frequently as time goes on, so I don't think this is the case.

Similarly, my post in the thread titled The Followers of Set as an enemy faction in Werewolf is currently in limbo because of a single edit. A bit of a bummer that you are unable to make edits to your own offending post.

Ooookay, I just got flagged for posting at all. I quoted someone in the Changeling Simple Questions thread, typed "That's immensely helpful. Thanks!", and hit 'Post'. Instant green.

I posted a Legacy on the Mage The Awakening forums, tried to edit typos, got flagged as potential spam, then my post got approved, and I figured that it would make the post immune to being flagged again.

It does not. You can get flagged for the same post multiple times if you keep editing it. These spam-detection bots are simply not working.

Agreed. My last post on this thread got flagged just from being posted. Not edited or anything, it just got eaten from the get-go. It's still flagged.

BTW I'm not actually furious, just doing comedic hyperbolic, and turns out other users can see my hyperlinks, and so can I but only when logged off? Weird.

Yeah. I used to be able to post, and then go back and quickly edit my post to catch a typo or something. But it feels like I'm getting posts flagged as spam more often than I used to.

At this point I may just move all my homebrews onto a Google Doc and temporarily sacrifice the thread to the Flag Gods with a hyperlink to that on the index post. Getting real tired of correcting something only to see green.

Is it possible that it based on threads? The ask a simple question thread on mage the awakening had a bunch of people get flagged just now. I’m not sure they had put in a edit either.
