Exalted Flora

I had some inspiration while in my garden today and wanted to share

• Ice Cream Bean Tree https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inga_edulis
  • Named for it's distinctive giant bean pods that can be up to 3 ft in length. The pulp in the bean pod is has a cotton candy like consistency and tastes somewhat like vanilla ice cream. The beans and the pulp surrounding them are both edible and nutritious. The tree can grow to approximately 98 ft, has a bell shaped canopy, and grows extremely quickly. The beans themselves have an extremely high germination rate and can tolerate almost any soil type.
  • This tree is found primarily growing within the Pole of Wood's sphere of influence (pretty much anywhere in the east and being more prevalent the closer you get to the pole of wood itself).
  • The Ice Cream Bean Tree can survive in almost any soil type because it infuses the surrounding soil with wood essence (real world it is a nitrogen fixing plant and helps other plants around it grow) and has been used as a shade canopy in the realm for crops that require shaded space for growing. Care must be taken on farms that utilize these trees due to how quickly they grow and the germination rate of the seeds, if these trees are allowed to take over the farm or grow without constraint the area will become more and more metaphysically part of the pole of wood and such flora and fauna will begin to appear that dwell in that area.

I have many more ideas for plants that can be converted into "Exalted Flora" and will be adding them as I have time to, I'm intentionally not adding any number crunching to the entries in this thread so it can easily be adapted to any game.

Please let me know if there are any other ideas or there are any plants that someone else may want written up into something that can be used in the game as well.

Could something be done with the Duroia Hirsuta ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duroia_hirsuta ), the trees responsible for the barren 'devil's gardens' in South America? They host colonies of ants inside hollow growths on their branches which help the plant by going out and killing off the saplings of other species of tree, giving Hirsuta space to grow without competition. Perhaps the trees are in fact demons descended from Metagaos? It would seem to fit in with his themes of 'growth and consumption'. Maybe the 'ants' actually aren't ants if you look closely, and can be spawned by the tree in great numbers if threatened.

I could see this being a sub soul of Szoreny, I'd have each iteration of the devil's garden be a second circle soul that spawns the ants that spread the garden.
