Celestial exaltations aren't a reincarnation of any sort. The exaltation is just a type of external magic that comes with residual memories that attaches itself to the higher soul. To treat anyone as if they were someone as a different life is incredibly ignorant of the person doing it. No matter how many memories or abilities they inherent, they were never and will never be that person. However, exalts can be susceptible to those memories and sometimes allow themselves to bear the grudges or alliances of their previous exaltation.
Random thoughts on the Empress' kids that had come to mind as I was rereading parts of the DB books:
Oban is very public on his support for Raenyah for Empress, as well as in at least contact with the Masked Council without being officially part of it. He is trying to set himself up as much as a power behind the Throne as possible as things go along. I also will admit fully that in my head he's played by Lance Reddick in a manner reminiscent of Charon from John Wick.
Ivoret is in his late 30s to early 40s. Basically old enough that he is spaced as the older sibling of say a starting character PC child of the Empress or something. While mortal, he has still become well established in his connections with the All-Seeing Eye and is secretly a sorcerer. (His mother knew but it wasn't something they advertised much.) He's currently kind of a hidden asset related to the Scarlet Dyansty with his connections and information network, but hasn't been tapped seriosuly by any of his siblings save Oban.
Having to take care of Sesus on threat of execution by the Empress did not just keep Ragara in line but softened him up a bit. He genuinely took raising Sesus seriously, was fairly sad to see her turn into someone as paranoid as she was due to his actions, and publically mourned her death. This is something that has not gone unnoticed by Mnemon and is on her list of reasons she despises him. If one were to visit Ragara's home they'd find sentimental memorabilia of her like old pictures or something like you woudl find a parent or sibling normally would have.
All Artifact weapons are called Daiklaves, because Daiklave is objectively the coolest name an Artifact weapon could possibly have. Eat my shorts, 'Grand Goremauls'.

I posted something similiar in the old headcanon thread.
"Daiklave" is Old Realm for "great weapon": any oversized weapon is a daiklave.
If the PC's try to cure Autochtonia, they will split him into a healed self & his corrupted, Engine of Destruction selves!
Yes. Then cue the Big Robot Battle Royal.
(With the Violator of Nullspace on the Engine of Destruction's shoulder.)
Viator of Nullspace, if memory tricks me not.
Truth be told, i' once made a Shadow Warriors/Transformer-esque game involving war in Autochtonia among metal elementals and mortal communities associated with them. Also some crossing over with Abyssals (the weird prison cube in the Labyrinth actually being a Ess6 alchemical master of Ebon Shadow that accidentally crossed into the Labyrinth and was partly corrupted) and Fair Folk (because exploring dreams can lead into very strange places on occasion and this time the Viator found "friends", or at least pliant minions). Fun times.

Well that sounds like an awesome game. How did it do with the Viator/Fae conflict?
Very few Americans speak Russian. But just about all Americans recognise the name "Kalashnikov" or "AK-47".
Likewise, whilst each language in Creation has its own words for "magic sword" and "ridiculously large hammer", the Old Realm "daiklave" is understood basically univerally across Creation.
"The tribe clearly doesn't speak Foresttongue. They chatter back and forth in their own language, deciding what to do you with you. The only word you can understand is when the priestess says 'daiklave'."

In that same vein, after some conversations with one of my players I've come to the understanding that the word 'Artifact' doesn't make much sense as an in-setting thing, and neither does the idea of a unified system of Artifact crafting. Like, a crafter who hails from a Shogunate-Era tradition of forging blue jade on a special mountaintop cloud-anvil maintained through ancient rituals and the appeasement of spirits of the sky would look at you with naked confusion if you brought them a chunk of Orichalcum and asked them to make you a sword with it.
The white veil society was started as an effort by a Lunar to weaken the realm by having dynasts assassinate one another, it has long since spiraled out control.
I want to play this as a starting character, I don't even care what game.

Interesting. Or would be if the books weren't clear that there is no White Veil Society 😈
