Well, the problem is also that charm empowered brawl particularly for Solar Exalted is a little too good in an end the fight by throwing a single punch kind of way and well, that’s similar to how some people perceive the East vs. West divide where Asia has a lot of style and pageantry that’s no match for brutal efficiency.
There's something extremely macho about being so strong that it doesn't matter if the other person is more skilled than you and as I say this I realise that I'm struggling to think of a brawler (or hero stylist) among the named characters of 3 editions who was actually coded as Asian. I think possibly White Bone Sinner? Maybe!?
I'm pleased to report that the answer is Tepet Yasal. He's an instructor at the House of Bells who fights the occasional exhibition match in pursuit of greater frame and recognition in the comic from Scroll of the Monk they're talking about the events of the Udon Comic series in which Peleps Taguro using Safety Among Enemies to redirect Demetheus' attack towards Kidale, killing the Eclipse caste and effectively breaking the Dawn Caste for the remainder of 2nd edition until he eventually ran into Lady Gaga in Hell.
I don't see what this adds. You yourself say folks play it. It is often one of the fastest selling things on DriveThruRPG. This book itself is Gold on the site. Essence is Platinum. Exalted crowdfunding campaigns are consistently often Onyx Path's most suecessful. Even the least-bought-into one, Exigents, does better than other OPP books combined. Others brin
What matters in the end is sales and players. Exalted has both. And a new edition, even if it started today, would not be in anyone's hands any sooner than Alchemicals is going to be, because mechanics isn't all that make a book.
I'm not sure about sales being the only thing that matters. The last exalted products I paid for, I bought only as collection items, and I don't think I'm the only one possessed by that kind of old fan inertia.
I keep backing the KSs but I've decided not to get the physical hardcovers anymore. They are very expensive, and are full of unusable rules I truly have no time to read anymore. I tried starting a Ex3 game a little more than a year ago, and my players, all experienced with TTRPGs, hated it, none of them had time to read so many charms or get involved with the more complex systems. And while there surely are ways to make things work, the people I've talked to, simply don't care about that. They have 5e and are happy with it.
Also, the fact that the forum is so quiet since the great witch Hunt that decided the fan base. People getting banned all the time. So many great posters gave up on the game. If you post your homebrew today here, you're gonna get a couple of comments and that's it. No more discussions, no more guys sharing their talent. Oh, and maybe the discord is full of life or something I don't care. I don't even know which is the good one, but all the ones I've found are full of discussions about something else entirely.
The fact is that things have changed, to a point in which this isn't exciting anymore. Books keep coming out at a glacial speed, but I don't think Exalted is getting any new audience anymore.

The forum is quiet because for over a year it was broken and unable to allow posts to be seen or interacted with.
As for the rest your experience is your own, because I've had people start up and join in to play games and love it.
But ultimately this comes down to you aren't being helpful or useful to the discussion, no one is holding you at gun point and your argument of "Scrap the whole edition its taking too long just do a new one" really misses the point that nothing would be solved by a new edition sure as fuck not that its taking a while to get the entire line out.
I agree that its too little too late if you were one of the people who backed the 3rd edition kickstarter and successfully ran Exalted at any point in any previous edition but it's good that it's there and we'll hopefully feel the value of it in the coming years. It probably would've generated a lot more buzz with existing players had it come out before Exalted Essence and revealed the details on the Abyssals, Infernals, Getimian and Alchemicals.

White Bone Sinner is a tricky one, his backstory with Panther would suggest a fellow brawler but he is also the original owner of Jiunan Nightwarden's grimscythe. I still like his depiction fighting Lilith on the cover of the 2e Storyteller's Guide which led to my partner calling him "Goth Raiden".

It was a grimcleaver. And apparently he wasn't very good with it, because Nightwarden managed to get it away from him and keep it away. And that's why WBS is also known as the Visitor in the Hall of Obsidian Mirrors.
I think it was more the loss of the ghost courtesan that got White Bone Sinner punished, but then again, the Walker in Darkness was portrayed as the kind of moron who would force a career brawler to use a grimcleaver and then torture him for losing it in a fight against a Solar. I cannot wait for better Deathlords.

Well, he does use an axe himself, so...
"You lost your axe! Now how are people going to know that you're one of my deathknights? Axes are important!"
Six hours of lecturing about axes later, and White Bone Sinner gets thrown in the mirror room.
