  • Omicron Writes Stuff [Hub Thread]

Back on the old forums, I wrote a lot of stuff. Since pretty much everything is stored on my google drive, I thought it might be cool to link them on these forums in case people liked them.

I'm not linking everything - some stuff was good, some stuff was bad, but more importantly some stuff was heavily edited after being posted on the forums due to feedback from forumites, and my drive has the unedited versions; this is why you'll find almost no link to mechanics and Charms here, as their edits haven't been saved and they are shamefully bad.

Mandatory disclaimer that some of that stuff is old and terrible.

    [Ex3]
Those Held In Thrall (Underworld Antagonists):
    -The Whisperers
    -The First Quarry
    -The Question

    [General Exalted]
Mankalvar, the Granite Supplicant: a gothic northern city ruled by the Ancestor Cult.
The Eye of the North: three warring cities of the Northern Underworld.
The Seven Dooms of Elysion: the fall of a great city, and a series of hekatonkhires.
The Charcoal Sea: in the Southern Underworld, a sea of charcoal, its worm-whales, and the ghosts that exploit it.
The Silver Ring: In the Dreaming Sea, a Lunar carved an empire out of islands and scaffoldings.
The Emporium of Fell Dreams: Giant First Age supermall, now an abandoned ruin of wonder.
Old Loire: Undead New Orleans from The Princess and the Frog. I won't apologize.
Tales of the North: Various plot hooks in the far North.
Pluto, Maiden of Legends: Five takes on the Sixth Maiden. Or maybe just one?
Itzapatotl and the Tzitzimime: a species of Underworld spirit and their hekatonchire progenitor.
The Lesser Dead: Uncommon ways of raising the dead through thaumaturgy: jiang shi, mummies and living skeletons.
Plants of Creation: Cattle-creeper, icevine and so on.
700-Words Fiction: Writing within the limits of a book's chapter fiction.
    A Crown of Bones: A Shogunate-era fanfic about a Dragon-Blooded necromancer.
The Winter Queen: A Lunar queen in the North and her court of raksha.
Souls of Ramethus: Yes, I made small write-ups of a bunch of Ramethus-descended devas. Shame on me. I still kinda like them though.
The Big Dumb Fight: the signature Solar Circle of 1st and 2nd Edition battle a huge monster. It's exactly what it sounds like.

    [Modern]
Bad Men in Sharp Suits: low-powered but well-connected supernatural antagonists.
The Leblanc MRC: Big Pharma wants to kill you! Two crazy Infernals trafficking superpowered drugs.
Yasumi, the City of Tomorrow: Tokyo meets Hiroshima meets Silent Hill. Ghosts, Infernals and Abyssals in a city shrouded by a deathly mist.
-Mahou Shoujo Modern Exalted: ...and the (optional) Magical Girls defending the above.
-Saving Breakfast: Short, silly fanfic about the aforementioned Magical Girls.
-Light Up the Night: Longer, darker fanfic about the aforementioned Magical Girls.
Madame Kali and the Arcane Mask: Conspiracies within conspiracies! Lady Shiva as a Sidereal trying to sabotage the Allthing.
The Emerald Widows Society: A trio of Lunars went off the deep end and are hunting Infernals to devour their Essence.
Miss Iyutha of IndigoChem: The Vitriolic Dragon exists in Modern and she is a Captain Planet villain. I won't apologize!

    [Gunstar]
O Bright Star: Rogue Infernal on the Gunstar.

    [Just Weird]
Her: If you've read 'St Cytherea Institute,' this might amuse you.

    [Sidereal Martial Arts (2e)]
Coruscant March of Constellations: a style based on stars, the void and space-faring.
Octarine Angles of Impossibility: a style based on alien geometries and guerilla warfare.
Albicant Pursuit of Truth: a sword-based style based on cutting everything obstructing your way to the Truth.
Chalcedony Rhythm of Time: a style based on manipulating time and freezing moments.

Is it really fanfiction when they're your characters, acting in what is essentially your setting?

Back when you first posted this, I called your Liminal fiction "fighting words." Never fought you, though.
    Sharpen your knives.

I consider it 'fanfiction' as long as I have not developped the setting myself. And, while I wrote up Yasumi, it's still part of Exalted modern, and is an Exalted story, so... Well, I'm not sure the word as a hard definition anyway.

I expect nothing less than a sound defeat for me in this battle, but it's a defeat that will taste sweet.

        Omicron:

Sorry to bug, but the below two links to you're Google Drive say that I need to "Request Permission" -- I've done so.

The Emporium of Fell Dreams: Giant First Age supermall, now an abandoned ruin of wonder.
Madame Kali and the Arcane Mask: Conspiracies within conspiracies! Lady Shiva as a Sidereal trying to sabotage the Allthing.

        Peace.

Much love for your Big Dumb Fight piece. I really liked your characterization of Arianna, and Swan as well. And you truly made something out of nothing with your portrayal of Panther. How hard was it for you to not throw some variant of "What the Christ are you talking about?!?" into his dialogue?

I am a huge fan of the Crown of Bone piece. It has potential if somewhat in need of polish. Well done.

I play forum games! Come check out the (mis?)adventures of

                  Thank you!

Most of this stuff is pretty rough and I look upon it in shame, really.

So I'm bumping this thread because now that Ex3 is out I can, if someone is interested, actually write up mechanics for those fluff things I made above. Any takers?

Or if you have some interesting idea that for some god-forsaken reason you think I'd be suited to write up, we can try that too.

I am a fan of your work. Anything that you wanted to write up for 3rd would definitely get a look over and be likely to get included in my games.

One thing I am always on the look out for is more gods. If you had any gods which would work well in a game set in the West I'd really appreciate them.

I can definitely do a Western god. Give me some time to think of what exactly.

It is done. Hope you find some use for it.

See, now I just want to throw some more challenges at you.

How about Moon-beams flight, a first age airship which was completed just before the cleansing of the Solars, so never saw flight. Vanileth would see a major boost in his remit if it were to be discovered and take flight in the current age.

His son, Varton (who in my head canon is an Exigent of his) has been dispatched along with Van-Oris, one of his servitors (who has a somewhat mischievous and self-aggrandizing manner). If you felt like doing an interesting writeup of any of them (with Evocations for Moon-beams flight) that would be shiny.

I'll be able to have a go at doing some mechanics for your items after the weekend, but figured you might want inspiration for a few more things.
