Yeah. I didn't know about the "Enslave entire population and keep them drugged" either.

How does gaining Backgrounds though play work? I mean, I could really become a Daenerys if everything goes my way. There's talk of Sidereals being npc's, what happens if they tag us with a true destiny (Astrology can be flavorful about luck and such)? I'm assuming we spend exp either way for crazy stuff like "my henchman exalted as a lost egg".

You tell me, "I want this background." I tell you how many letters it will take. You will work towards the background in your letters. Probably limit it to working on a new or two backgrounds at a time. I'm expecting you guys to rank up the backgrounds. You expect the powers behind the throne to be powerful.

You send me what you want to do for the letter, so you can't get away with 'I kill everyone and take the Scarlet Throne. " in this one letter. I tell you what complications you run into. Or tell you that you are trying to do too much in one letter.

I am going to create the Play by Post threads (complete with detailed explanations of how the game is going to work) and post First Letter this Friday.

You can start posting Introduction Letters after I create the Play by Post topics. The Introduction letter should have the following:
          1. Who are you?
          2. Where are you?
          3. What can you bring to the conspiracy?
          4. Why did you join the conspiracy?
          5. Any other details you think your character would include.

What I need from you before you can start posting letters:
          1. Character Sheet
          2. Character Survey.
          3. Location Location Location. I need this sooner than later to figure out what area your character will be playing in. Be sure to read about your location in the books as well. You will be basically a mini-ST in this game. You will have control over your location NPCs. My job is to make sure no one drift too far from the main plot and to throw a monkey wrench into your plans.

If you can't finish your character by Friday, no worries. You can post in the next group of letters. Tentatively, I am considering doing one in game month of letters every two real time weeks. First week I will work with the players to figure out what happened during the month via PM/OOC topic. Second week is actual letter writing. We can adjust this schedule as needed.

We will be using this dice roller. You will be required to roll for any charm that requires rolls and one or two rolls to solve your complication.

Here is where everyone's character is at:

Ok! Created a dice-rolling account. Neat little website there. Looking forward to getting started.

Out of all the dice rollers I've used, it has the best uptime and is easiest to use for play by Post games.

FYI, I'll be calling the game the Scarlet Sky Conspiracy. No need to change your campaign name.

                Slip
                (Tepet Shia)
                Dragon Blood
                Water Aspect troublemaker
Tepet (Much to their later chagrin)
Motivation: Steal the bling bling chair

Slip was just a realm peasant girl, she exalted breaking into one of the primary schools and trying to steal from the headmaster. She doesn’t hate the realm persay, she just prefers not to be held down by rule and stricture. Odd that she chose the Razor, (it'll grow back...) At the cloister she has proven to be a handful, and while she hasn't taken the enlightenment to higher levels of martial prowess yet, she's ready to attempt it at any point, when she feels like it.

                Backgrounds:
Important NPCs: Sagacious Blossom, A wood aspect monk who has taken a shine to Slip. He's old but takes a certain joy out of her exuberance, she also kinda likes the guy since he's not quite as stuffy.
Uncompromising Jade: An Earth aspect monk who while doesn't hate Slip, sees her lack of discipline as a failure on the cloister's part. Has frequently called for her disciplining only to get overruled by Sagacious Blossom.

                Strongest Attribute: Wits
Weakest Attribute: Intelligence (Not dumb, just didn’t pay much attention to studies)
Strongest Skills: Investigation, Larceny, Stealth, Integrity
Other Details: She’s a kid, she’s full of herself, She's a troublemaker, but she's not mean.

I am reading up on Ledaal as they have a heavy presence in the Arjuf Dominion, which is where Whispering Twilight is holed up. I am curious to who would have in interest in working on influencing the Cathak Great House? Controlling Ledaal and Cathak would make a great backing to any candidate we end up going with.

I am going for a heavy presence on the Ledaal Great House and would love it if Ledaal Catala Akashan - Exthalion would assist on that given his background.

I have a second NPC* that could fill the Cathak hole, but I'd prefer if a PC takes that role.

*I have a bunch of ideas for this NPC, but I really can't plan them out until everyone's character is settled.

Kell_Tamer, I have an off the wall idea for your character. I really can't see what your character could do for the Conspiracy from Nexus. While there are some Realm Agents in Nexus, they are busy screwing around with Nexus politics. This game is focused on Blessed Isle Politics. You can still be from Nexus, but we need to find a Blessed Isle location for your character to settle in.

As a lost egg, you could be offered the Coin and Razor choice by a Realm Agent. That would put your character in either Paisap's Stair or the Cloister of Wisdom. Out of those two options, I suggest the Cloister of Wisdom. I see a lot of conflict and hilarity between your character and the monks attempting to teach your character discipline.

She wouldn't live the first month. The book is very clear they kill dragon bloods who don't do well in the cloister.

Through a point of Lore and MA on your character sheet and you'll just annoy the Monks instead of cause murderous rage.

They only kill about education it seems, not being a little shit. Otherwise they'd have to kill half the student populace.

They probably like stubborn students. They are less likely to be brainwashed by an Anathema.
