I forgot about Fireborn, but there is a lot of thematical overlap with Scion: Dragon. Like direct inspiration overlap.
*NOT COPYING OR STEALING IDEAS, BUT SEVERAL CONCEPTS RESEMBLE EACH OTHER CLOSELY*
Though the espionage angle is new, and it has been adapted to the World as well. Plus a lot more politics are implied the Flights.

I may have had my mind go a slightly different direction on that.

I saw it as both. The Ophidian Denizens can't shapeshift, but I can definitely see a lot of them inspiring the World's less noxious conspiracy theories...which are equally wrong, given how the majority of "lizard people" are really "humans who are valid targets for Bequeathment from living Dragons." Who likely don't know it themselves and are likely too large to be anything resembling a secret cabal, since it's an ethnic group more than it is a family. Sort of like being descended from Ghenghis Khan.

Am I reading it right? Dragons created REPTILIAN RACE before humanity?! 😮

‘Dragons marveled at the rapidity of change, the miracle of new growth, and the brevity of mortal life. Soon, creation perfected its formulae and birthed children of scale and claw to The World.
(…) So similar were these creatures to Dragons, the ancient ones called them children and in the mess of living within all time at once, some Dragons forgot they did not create these children. Life in this blossoming world was peaceful. At first, Dragons lived alongside their children, their influence near imperceptible to the young creatures who wanted nothing more than to hunt and eat. However, slowly, generation by generation, the Dragon’s children became more aware of their presence. The first great cultures grew from this newfound awareness modeled after the titanic Dragons watching over everything.

I wish I had that kinda cash. I am holding at the $5 mark till I get more from each book and I make my final choice. Right now dragons are narrowly winning.

For Chronicles of Darkness fans - Scion: Dragon, from my reading of Introduction preview, seems a lot like Beast: Primordial, minus problematic elements of it. ( Hungers, teaching 'Lessons', all those stuff. )

I like the Flights. There seems to be a lot of room for diverse motivations and how those might manifest.

    And I also want turtles.

if there ends up being a second additional Flight, I'm hoping maybe for sea monsters.

Stretch goals indicate a new Flight made of legendary turtles and I'm glad this KS is doing well cause I NEED this

    Short sum-up of Dragons Flights:
‘• Draqs – Grouped mostly in the Middle East, these Dragons seek vengeance for the loss of Tiamat, who they consider the progenitor of all Dragons.

Joka – Dragons found primarily in northern and western Africa and known for their intense hunger. Their hunger has driven them toward ambitions, and a return to a time before Gods.

Lindwurms – European dragons are grouped as Lindwurms, though it is a term primarily used for Dragons from the Nordic nations, as well as Eastern European dragons. They seek knowledge and power in lieu of lost memories.

Lóng – Lóng encompass mostly east Asian Dragons, though also includes Polynesia and the Philippines. This Flight is the largest and most disparate, though they seek fame, glory, and to replace the pantheons.

Naga – The Naga are primarily located in southeast Asia, though they have members across Asia and Europe as well. Naga seek knowledge and a way to reopen their Terra Incognita where members of their Flight are trapped.

Serpents – Serpents are mostly found in the Americas, though also in the Pacific Islands and Australia. These Dragons care about the natural parts of The World and humanity. They seek to teach and uplift humanity to cleanse The World, or otherwise remove those who can’t be taught.

To be fair, Onyx Path Stretch Goals have a tendency to, well, stretch when the Kickstarter is really popular.
