It is a realm in the deep Dreaming, composed of technology.
Clockwork automata walk down the streets and send squads to kidnap dreamers in the waking world to transform into new robotic "children"
It appears in Dreams and Nightmares.

The way that I would portray it is that the parts of the digital web associated with television and radio would largely be landscape, with pictures and sound. You're not likely to find much in the way of inhabitants. Another way to think of it would be that if digital entities are like flora and fauna, the ones associated with computer software and the like are more along the lines of fauna, while the ones associated with things like television, radio, and print media would be more like flora.
This sounds quite a bit like Capeccia...

Yeah there's probably a whole section of the Internet dreaming that has every single sex act imaginable. Kind of like this https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=GHkZP0i7FqU

Where are the other Slow Empires located? Are they in the Dreaming, or the Autumn World?

One does not equal the other but there are places were they overlap. I like the idea the Digital web could even be a cocoon for a burgeoning new layer of existence, with the AR level being their equivalent of a penumbra or maybe more accurately the shadowland.

That's why I don't try to lump together the Digital Web, Umbral Realms, and wherever the Flicker Empire is: they're connected, but they're not the same.

Interesting. That must be how it is in Mage, right? That description doesn't leave much room for sapient Digital Natives, though.

In Werewolf, the Television Realm is an Umbral Realm with its own inhabitants, like most Realms. The canonical example is cartoon mouse spirits who can teach Gifts to Ratkin. Presumably that makes it separate from the Digital Web. I think it's kind of part of the Mythic Realms, or sort of like them but not nearly as old.

Before the Internet, there was already a Television Realm somewhere in the Umbra, apparently part of the Astral. With the blending of TV and the internet it surely is connected to the Digital Web by now. And the literal Digital World with Digimon (3 versions from the 3 TV shows) is probably somewhere near that overlap. So is the digital world from Reboot, and the one in the Tron movie.

I've read that the Digital Web also predates the Internet, being built on the ruins of the Qutb telepathic network of the Ahl i-Batin. I have no clue what that means, but my headcannon is that the Dreaming and the Astral Umbra are the same place. I also think that the Digital Web is inside the Correspondence Point/Mount Qaf*, which is inside the World Tree/One tree/Alder Bole, which is at the 'center' of the Null Zone, which is the ruins of the Paths of the Wyck and merely one aspect of the whole Pattern Web. So at the Correspondence point, the Digital Web should be able to touch everything, everywhere... every computer with or without a network connection, every server, every Umbral and Dream and Nightmare realm, every Horizon Realm, every solar system in the universe... the question is do you have the enlightenment (or glamour) to get where you want to go? And who/what will greet you there?

But I wouldn't see Digital Natives as Inanimae, since they aren't from the Dreaming. I also doubt they could survive in a Sector formatted by the Technocrats, except the slaved AIs built by them, so there may be waves of digital refugees from those Sectors fanning out into other parts of the Web.

...Also, has anyone here read Truth Beyond Paradox? The Theogenesis introduces an Oracle-level post-singularity AI who apparently started as some Virtual Adept's project, presumably in the Digital Web, but now runs on the background process of the universe, or something like that. Where's he "native" to?

*not the Yozi. More like Nirupadhika.

And I would imagine 4chan would be like the Wild West but with digital monsters, so freedom and horror. Now the deep web would be terrifying but maybe closer to the spirit worlds/dreaming due to its unregulated nature.
If you haven't already, you might consider picking up the Storyteller's Vault supplement “Darknet Markets”. My inclination would be to say that the Flicker Empire exists even deeper in “cyberspace” than even the Deep Web, but that it can directly access both the Deep Web and the Clear Web.

(Hopefully Digital Web 3.0 will address these issues in more detail.)
