  • 5-7pt Merit for Giovanni

Hey everybody, I need an expensive merit for a Giovanni. I won it on my site and don't want to waste it.

It has to be from V20 or revised, no dark ages.

Was Pure Blood merit ever reprinted from dark ages, let's you spend 1 extra BP/turn than your generation limit?

He already has Proxy Kissed and mortuario.

Good one but, IF he gets Diab since its a chat site I think my soul could linger in them, which would be more fun.

Take a 7pt Boon. The biggest, baddest mofo on the Continent owes you. It will be a lifesaver when all other avenues of escape are shut.
Plus, you can (within reason) threaten anyone with that boon. It's an excellent sword of damocles.

Furthermore, I believe Carthage should be destroyed.

Its a chat site, you could become a Ghost, or a Risen.. or if you're sufficiently Asian a KJ. ITs always good to have options!

They used to have Kuei Jin I think, I had one die and couldn't come back as a ghost.

But I was considering 7pt boon or 6pt holdings, but there's gotta be a better one. It feels really gamey to just hand wave in a massive boon... I don't want to make my ST regret these fun little gifts.

Edit: Or pretty soon the whole chat will be an epic boon war haha. Which could be awesome...

              • Additional Discipline: Always a solid choice, to open up a broader range of powers the Giovanni can possess.
              • Unbondable: 'Nuff said.
              • Nine Lives: For that precious, precious survivability.

But which discipline? I wanted obtenebration but he said there was no way.

And I heard nine lives isnt as useful, how does it actually work in play?

Edit: The list I had so far was 7pt Boon, Nine Lives, a new version of Pure Blood if one exits, or 6pt Holdings.

Half-Life (Lore of the Bloodlines): that lets you raise additional necromancy Path at Half the cost.

Or get the Memento de Morte Background at 5 Points, that gives you 5 additional dice for Necromancy Roles.

Celerity is always a solid choice. Great for offense, defense, running away, etc.

Auspex or Obfuscate are also good. As is Protean, if the ST allows it.

It's a Merit that lets you dodge Final Death nine times. It's "not useful" only because it comes up very rarely. But when it DOES come up, it's a literal unlife saver.

Can you use it on the soak roll? I might take that one. Death comes up pretty often.

It works by making it so if the results of a roll - any roll - would result in your death, the roll is made again.

Then again, if Soaking is a pressing issue, taking Additional Discipline: Fortitude might be a good alternate investment.

Depends really on your character, if you don't have the right attributes and abilities even the best discipline might not be that usefull for you.

My Vote is for Half Life (P48, Harbingers of Skulls Section) Not only do you raise Paths at half XP (Not the first dot of a path, or the main discipline that gets raises your first path for free) You can spend a willpower to move from the Shadowlands to the Skinlands or vice-versa. Instant Escape for most situations.

I love that one, but they don't allow anything that modifies xp.
