About time!

I love V20 dearly, but compared to the following 'Twentieth Anniversary' versions (W20 and especially M20), it feels like Vampire: the Masquerade got a polished-up omnibus rather than a proper new edition. I'm soooo happy, but my bank account is soooo sad.

Edit: Unless this turns out to be some kind of sad prank... And that would be just the worst! As it stands, though, I hope it would be a retooling of V20 as a proper Fourth Edition, similar to how Vampire: the Requiem's Second Edition was called Blood and Smoke.

I'm feeling kinda... meh? On doing a 4th edition of the cWOD; for all I think it needs one. Let the cWOD devs and authors finish the 20th lines at least? Or at least make them highly compatible...

I kinda thought V20 was the 4th edition. I'm not sure how I feel about this news, tbh. I kinda wish they waited until they revised the rest of the lines before putting out yet another VtM update, but I'll still be buying it. Cuz I'm that kind of sucker who wants to own everything from the cWoD.

They do clarify later that it's not coming until the current V20 run is completely finished.

A little disappointed this is announced right after I bought a bunch of V20 books. I wonder how much of a departure it will be.

I seriously wonder if that's the plan. It seems quite possible.

At very least, with a new edition not restrained by "nostalgia value" like V20 was, expect them to move away from "multiple actions" as a mechanical thing.

I am OK with this if it means more frequent releases, new clanbooks, etc. A total relaunch with proper backing and not a labor of love reliant solely on kickstarters. New clan books, sect guides, better crossover balancing, etc. Improvements used for nWoD but with CWoD metaplot and themes.
