  • Was he alone? In my opinion ideas were good. Question is about the right peoples in right places and number of them. If there was idea about for example tv shows, core game and board games I imagine that someone should coordinate the WoD ideas and keep them in check while other separate teams might be do their job.

Licensing the product to other publishers maby wasn't that bad but it is hard to work with leash around your ideas, so freelancers hands could be tied.

So I think about it this way. I bought full rights to some game about werewolves , vampires and other stuff. It was successfully published years ago and have huge fan base. Surely I want to earn my money on it and so I am going to release the best thing I can. But I need some peoples who know how to do it properly cause I am good at something else. Pc games.

Games ... Bloodlines 2 which is in torpor. Werewolf that was made by average company. This is im my opinion one of the worst moves they made.

Second thing if my workers are making a lot of things at the same time it is very logical to control what are they doing.and LISTEN what peoples want. I should not do some things against fan base cause it won't bring any profit.

Third mistake - don't take away projects from companies you gave permission to write in the middle of work! Wtf is this s...t.

Four mistake - what's done is done. Apologizing everywhere makes you a target for more atacks. Paradox is often apologizing and I think that they made Achilli leader of WoD cause he seems to be stubborn and if something won't be ok he'll just move to next topic. And that might be the worst.

    • Its hard to pick apart the design decisions in v5 but general concensus but that doesn't seem to have happened. For example the anarch book seems to have been designed as a coffee table book and a stylised guide book to what anarchs are like for other media. This is why it isn't a very good book for rpgs

Yes exactly his design vision ultimatly stunts the game.

Yes and they picked the wrong guy. They really should have gone to oynx path and engaged in some market research.

To clarify my point I'm not blaming Eric or calling him a idiot, Im just saying i feel he wouldn't do a good job with w5 because of his errors with v5. Much like I don't think justin is going to do a good job with w5 from what we're seeing from him.

      • As an aside, I'm loving the number of people in Retaliation KS who after seeing the Get of Fenris lupus form model, started asking for a full set. And the poor creators have to remind the backers that Fenrir are bad guys.

Just, nothing shows what a mistake it was than people missing the tribe.

I mean that's part of white wolfs tradition of making bad guys who are more interesting than the protagonists. So it's nice to see some continuation.

More to the point, what's with the poster who claimed that Fenris was kin to the Wyrm? I... do not recall that ever being a thing. Is this a prior edition tribebook issue? Because I thought that the first GoF TB got basically thrown in the trash, lore-wise. Goes double for anything that's tapping into real-life lore about Fenrisulfr, because Revised set up an anti-mythology where just about everything that that Norse thought was wrong.

I think the poster was mistaken.

This also happened as a result of the slow release-schedule, I would say. The W5 corebook should be the first thing to come out in introducing people to the new rebooted version of WtA. I mean, how do you even explain how Garou work in W5 without the new corebook explaining it? At this stage, the main-reference-point for most people is still the old WtA. In general, I'm wondering just how much of what Justin Achilli wants W5 to be even is in this boardgame. It's actually near to impossible to not contradict the W5 corebook on some smaller things at least, I imagine since the text for the boardgame has been already written, I assume and the W5 corebook is still a WIP.

"Ha ha ha Fenrir go GRRRRRRR!"

Reading that... It seems to me like someone is trying to write about the W5-Tribes with the same amount of knowledge we have gotten through previews thus far. No, actually even less at this point... Because the write-up of the Silver Fangs makes no sense in the context of the Garou/Kin-dynamic.

That can't be what the Tribes in the W5 corebook end up being like.

                      • Those descriptions reek of all the already well trod issues with trying to make 11 Tribes work with the new setup in general.

The W5 core book will do better because it will have pages, not a card, to explain things... but I'm not sure any amount of word count is really going to address how they're removed too many of the conceptual lines between Tribes.

                        • The Fianna - we're like the Red Talons, but with farms!

                          • I guess there's also always the option of Tribes in W5 being this weird mishmash of old concepts with the new ideas of W5... and it really doesn't make sense how any of it actually works. H5 certainly had moments like that.

But the Red Talons Tribe would be especially weird considering how little attention is paid to Lupus Garou in W5. After all, Lupus is treated more like "This game won't support playing a Lupus but if you really have to, you can write it on your character-sheet, I guess...". And I really wonder how that could be a Tribe-concept since in W5 Lupus are random wolves all over the world becoming shapeshifters.

In general, I hope that the Garou/Kin-dynamic gets explored in more detail in the W5 corebook beyond "Nobody knows how it works.". I mean, even if you don't understand the process, you can still make some determinations about the results like the number of Kin in an area, the frequency of them showing up, events, locations that coincide with Kin appearing etc.

Okay, just read that. How in the world are the Bone Gnawers a Honor Tribe and not a Wisdom Tribe?

I get the feeling Talons will be resuming their old role as mostly NPCs with few people picking them up due to curiosity.

I mean, the setting itself is actively hostile to even playing a Talon.
