  • Would that make a good idea for a fangame?

so,at the present moment,i don't have time and energy to make a fangame but I'm still blessed and cursed with ideas for them, all of the ideas are fun but only few would truly work.
One I'm particularly proud of is a fangame where protagonists are "Heralds of Doomsday"
Have you ever noticed how every doomsday prophecy has a herald,Ragnarok has one,So does the Christian Apocalypse. There's always an angel blowing an horn or rooster crowing to announce the End of Days
    What if you played them?
In this gameline you'd play people cursed with a state that makes their very existence a beacon for disaster, they'd settle in a place and a hurricane/plague/bombing/whatever would happen
their powers would include learning to channeling their curse to hurt their enemies and manipulate fate
their societies would include several different views on what is their place on the world, should they embrace their curse? deny it? try to find a balance
wouldn't that make a fun fangame?

P.S If you wanna take the idea and develop yourself, feel free to do so. just remember to credit me as the one who came up with it

Certainly seems interesting. I don't think I'd be able to take it up myself, but I'm willing to provide moral support for anyone who does.

Harbingers. Fated to speak the end of the world, but they turned away from that fate (for a reason based on their splat). The stronger they grow, the more terrible the disasters that follow in their wake.

Another possible inspiration: Mothman, who was apparently seen before several large-scale disasters.

How about "Harbingers: the armaggedom" was a title?

Hooo, nice description-summary there! Mothman could easily be an interesting inspiration, alongside his/its more avian ‘cousin’; the Blackbird of Chernobyl. Heck, one power that Harbingers could have/obtain/unlock is the ability to assume a (partially?) bestial form that provides benefits that scale with their Power Stat.

Seems as good as any. I say we stick with it until we agree on something more suitable.

Would it have to be a disaster? Multiple events could be fated to happen, also how would the campaign process once the event occurs? Would having the type of event characters herald change or should that remain consistent?

Maybe one Axis could be a general type of disaster, and so long as it stays within that type, a Harbinger could call down pretty much any apocalyptic event that's within their power to do so. Kinda' like how the 'Family' X-Splat of Beast indicated what sort of Nightmare their Horror was spawned from; near-infinite variety, limited theme.

                  So.

                  1) I think this is just a tweak of direction away from Oracle: the Endbringers, and
                  2) No, this is not substantial enough for a Noun: the Gerund gameline. Maybe something smaller.
