Something I forgot to ask before.

Here's a list of Numina describing the powers Djinn can have. Along with their Influences, Djinn are potentially quite versatile. All Djinn get the Materialize, Animal Shape and Flight Numen for free (as in, they don't count for the maximum number of Numina they can have). Djinn with a Ban also get the Elemental Shape and Elemental Immunity Numen as well, usually associated with the element they've choose to be bound with when taking the Ban (or something thematically close).
Does this mean those five Numina do not count to the usual limits imposed on ephemeral beings?

Exactly. Those powers are so omnipresent in all the sources about Djinn that I've found appropriate to stretch the rules a bit. They're abilities ingrained in the fundament of Djinn's existence. Aside from a Number of Numina determined from your Rank, you get those as well.

Gotcha. Thanks for clearing that up. (Oh, dang. I just realized that gives Yagmur more possible reasons to be dangerous)

I'm checking my old stuff with the idea to update it to second edition. Some, like my work with Hosts, are fairly straightforward, but the same cannot be said for Djinn.

Since this is the single finished homebrew I'm most proud of so far, you think those 2nd Edition addition I wrote back in the day are enough or I should do more?

I care about my Djinn and if I can do something to improve them and make them last more, I'll try to find the time eventually

Holy crap, this entire thread is amazing!

Is it okay if I link to your excellent homebrew in a sidebar of my Detroit setting, Motor City Breakdown? Southeast Michigan is home to the world's largest population of Arabs outside the Middle East, so it's almost inevitable that anyone who fools around in the enclave of Hamtramck or the suburb of Dearborn long enough will run into a djinni.

Sure, go for it. The only thing that's better than people liking my stuff is them using it for their own shenanigans, be it games or homebrew.

              And thanks!

Cinder, I hope for some thoughts/crossover ideas to see on Djinni here when we will have 1001 Nights Dark Era, finally.

Odds are that the chapter itself will talk about the "canon" version of Djinni but, no matter how it goes, I'll do my best to come up with something
