  • 2e Outline is here

    Take a look here!

I'm a bit confused when Monica says that every compact and conspiracy will be represented, but only 6 of each will be written up. That means there will references to the others not given the full write up I assume? Council of Bones looks like an interesting idea and is definitely a niche that hasn't been filled yet.

I wonder who from the 1st edition core didn't make the cut for the full write-up to make room for the Council of Bones.

I'm expecting that every Compact and Conspiracy will be mentioned, with perhaps as much as a paragraph each to give a sense of what they're about; but only a few will get several pages worth of material to themselves.

Personally, I'm most curious about 2e's take on the Code. I know how I'd do it; but I'm curious how Monica plans to do it.

Abbey, if I had to guess.

EDIT: I'm an idiot. Cheiron, maybe? Especially if they're baddies in Deviant.

While I doubt it would happen, its hypothetically possible that none of the original core C&Cs show up. There are enough from the supplements that you could pick a brand new set of cores. Obviously that won't happen, but we could be looking at losing more than one from each category to allow for a new direction in Hunter products.

Most of the ones from supplements (many of which I love) have more inherently restrictive focuses than the core 6/6 that are important to their themes. The core were intentionally a set with broader uses, even if they had favored prey (vampires for MM, mages for AKD, etc)

It might be Null Mysteriis, but times now look dark for Abbey fans...

(There's cool stuff in that outline and they could be moved to a supplement and still awesome, but freaking out is traditional.)

That would make a lot of sense

Assuming that the core 6 do end up being the same as the ones from 1e, minus the two cuts and plus the two new additions, (a pretty big assumptions, to be fair), it would make sense for Cheiron to be the Conspiracy that gets cut if it's showing up in Deviant. By the same token, it would make a lot of sense for Ashwood to be the Compact that gets cut if it's featuring in the Slasher Chronicle chapter. Which I would certainly hope it does, what with the Hunt Club being part of them and all. I would have assumed Ashwood would be the Compact to VASCU's Conspiracy in that chapter, if it hadn't been specified that the Compact was new and as of yet unnamed. So I'm guessing they've gone full black hat. But it's possible the new Compact could be an Abbey offshoot, the rest having been corrupted by the Hunt Club.

I'm banking on lucifuge being one of the conspiracies

This looks really good I'm excited to learn more.

Confused about the mentions of Merits and Flaws though, that seems like a very oWoD phrasing

A fine outline indeed. Personnally, I think the Lucifuge, the loyalist of Thule and AKD will make the cut.

Hello! Popping in really quick to say that I'm excited to see how enthusiastic y'all are about the corebook. For 2E, I figured out a way to provide seven compacts and seven conspiracies! All conspiracies from the corebook are getting a full splat and, as I mentioned in the outline, we are providing a "history of" section for both and a section to cover every compact and conspiracy that has ever been mentioned. I am also including a "create your own" section for both compacts and conspiracies that will address the systems. For specifics, I am going to address those at a later date in an OpenDev post. Yay!

That's good to hear, particularly with all the cool stuff from Dark Eras and other stuff scattered among 1st ed books. Looking forward to the result!

Awesome to hear! This has me excited already, much like the Mage and Werewolf 2e previews did. If Hunter 2e can do half of what those two books did to me for their gamelines, it will be very successful indeed. And really, there is every possibility it will do more. It is awesome to see that history will continue to be included.

One non-core book question. You said that your plan is to introduce new writing blood for each Hunter supplement as well. Does that mean there will be periodic Hunter Open Calls, or you will you be dipping into the existing pool of submissions? My instincts would be towards the latter, but I just wanted to clarify since I know there are a number of us on the forums who would be interested in throwing our hats into the ring if we didn't get a chance to for the core book.
