Of course. I think the country club like members are the most prominent, and are way more hedonistic

The most likely a rich classy hunter would join the abbey is if it's the old money (they actually behave gentlemanly and act as if monster hunts were fox hunts)

"There must be rules about these sorts of things, dear boy."

Malkydel: "And the Machine dictated; let there be adequate illumination."
Yossarian: "And lo, it was optimal."

Would not be surprised if they were like that. Good thing is compacts and conspiracies makes each "face" of the abbey very open to interpretation

The cultured old-money aristo tends to only appear when the aristo doesn't actually have any money.

What I'm getting at is that the idea of rich people acting gentlemanly tends to be associated with them not having any money. Like, historically, ideas of taste have been ways to compensate for not being as wealthy as other people.

So in this instance the Old Money hunter who thinks the hedonism of the Abbey is rather tasteless... would probably be the person who can't actually afford it.

Pretty much, personally I like to think they really are more gentlemanly, but will indulge in hedonism (as a hellfire club should) but will keep off letting demons possess them and the like.

Anyone know of any homebrew versions of the promethean brotherhood endowment? Just in case 2nd edition does nothing to change it to be viable compared to the shulpae

Does anyone play the ash town Abby. Or just use them as antagonists

My group plays as them whenever we have a session for it (which is so rare nowadays sadly)

Not the whole group though, one of them is a loyalist of Thule that a libertine in our group is trying to coerce into the abbey

Ok Konradleijon. First, warhammer reference, second, I'll go over how we play as a group and as individuals. Also we use the specialties from compacts and conspiracies including their endowment Bachannal.

As a group, we don't react to the supernatural happening, we actively try to find it, to be that outside element to a vampires masquerade and a werewolfs pack. When we get news of monsters, we don't go to them out of altruism, but out of interest "would it make a nice rug" "does it's very essence give a high to end all highs". Our Thule player is the one most likely to react to trouble and get us to go there out of selflessness (or just convince us it would be positively thrilling).

As individuals, we consist of two competitors and one libertine. I'm one of the competitors and we both constantly place bets against other Ashwood Abbey and even at times conspiracies. Mostly it consists of trying to cause discord in vampire society, taking on werewolves with no silver, and say we want a relic from the aeigis Kai doru, we will bet with them things such as "if we take down more werewolves in this area, we get your glowing skull thingy, if you kill more werewolves, we will personally fund you weaponry of any kind (note it's very hard to convince aegis Kai doru, so we try to downplay what we can do so they underestimate us) Life as a competitor is down to the wire, you can lose it all, but the gain is worth it.

Our libertine has a dream, a dream to be the first to successfully skin a werewolf and keep the pelt as that of a wolf, NOT a human. Along the way, he wants to do exciting things such a feel the possessions of a demon take place in him, enslave the very spirits of lust to do all sorts of disgusting things, and to slurp the vitriol straight from a promethean (which he HATES)

If you want to know how we use our endowments and the sub group "secrets" just let me know

Basically he took the idea that the abbey hate monsters becoming human and turned it up to 11

The Ashwood abbey does the things it does to monsters because they are not human, they are something else, something worse, something that on a fundamental level is inhuman, impure. For a monster to become human is an insult to humanity, for it is superior and monsters have no place as equals to ascend to them
