  • The Fallen Realms

This is something that I`ve wanted to do for a loooong time. The moment I heard that a book on the Fallen Realms is being written, or will be written I got inspired to do this...

So, without further ado, can we list all places, worlds and realms mentioned in the books? Like a list of all those places where Awakened end up occasionally in their pursuit of mysteries and obsessions?

So, fill in the gaps if I forgot any realm and feel free to correct if I made any mistakes.

First we have Material/Earth/Flesh/our world. Then there is Twilight/Nether Khertet. Then we have Gauntlet, and mentioned in the Free Council book, a misty realm within Gauntlet. Then there is Shadow Realm/Hisil with all it's weirdness like places that do not correspond to real flesh locations and Wounds.
We also have the Underworld with a lot of locations and Dead Dominions.
We have Astral with it's layers: Oneiros, Temenos, Anima Mundi and Primordial Dream...
We also have Hedge and Fae Arcadia (which is not Supernal, not to be confused)
Then weirder things come to mind...
I think that in one of the mage books in 1e there is a place that's jamming the Underworld so Souls go to that place instead. I think it's in the Boston book or Supernal Tarot, but I could easily be mistaken.
Then there are various Emanation Realms from both 1e and 2e.
Sta-au from VtR access some weird realm but it could be Twilight.
Then we have Lower Depths. Abbadon/Inferno, Dis, Gardens of Cwn Annwen and Duat.
I don`t know should I mention Aaru cause it could be Supernal. I like to believe that its not.
Then we have Empyrean that could also be either above Supernal or in Lower Depths ( or both just to mess up with cosmology theories )
In the end we have a Place Between where Exarch of Abyss, The Gate, is said to reside.
    We have Abyss and Supernal...
So... did I miss anything or is it all that is?

There’s been one or two references to somehow going into a realm inside the Gauntlet.

Yes, you’re missing plenty of realm references.

However, the realm within the Gauntlet is mentioned. Though it would be more accurate to say that the Gauntlet is a realm rather than containing a realm.

Mind helping filling in the gaps?

Here's a few corrections and suggestions:
Twilight is a state of being rather than a realm. If it were, you'd have to list at least four different kinds of Twilight since they don't intersect. (Ghosts, spirits, GM-angels, and goetia.)
The Gauntlet was previously the Border Marches/Pangaea, and looked quite differently back then. Just a note.
The Primordial Dream is located within the Temenos rather than being a separate part of the Astral.
The first, oft ignored, layer of the Astral are the dream spaces (i.e. regular dreams), before the Oneiroi, the Temenos and the Anima Mundi.
The Land of the Worms that Sta-Au has claimed as their territory is actually just badlands on the North American continent.
Mages with Space 5 can create pocket dimensions. Spaces that are not connected to the material, but still accessible through Sympathy like all the Fallen Realms.
Arch-mages I believe creates Chantries within their souls that can turn into Wendings. I might be wrong, though. I'm not that familiar with that part of the Mage cosmology.

Notably, Mummy treats Twilight as a place, rather than a state of being.

Do you mean the specific locations in each realm? That could be hard. I think the point of some places like the lower depths and temenos realms is that there are so damn many of them that listing them is impossible. So GM have a lot of freedom.

I also put it in the list cause of Mummy. Not to mention those two mountains in the distance that everyone can see and no-one can reach...

I also forgot the Plains of Bones and the peyote realm from Mummy the Curse. First one is connected to an artifact and the second is from Rio and connected to an Amkhat... again, correct me if I'm wrong

The Core Mummy Book describes one of the Lower Depths, wait was that the Plain of Bones?

Aaru is the Supernal, hence the Scroll of Ages.

Arcadia is not necessarily two separate places, Hedge could be the Fallen Reflection. After all in Arcadia you learn to make contracts with Platonic Ideals.

It has been repeatedly stated by devs that it is two separate places with no relation beyond name and both having ties to a form of Fate.

Aaru is Supernal from the mummy's point of view, not mage`s... I think someone, maybe even devs, said that it's not necessarily Supernal

Hunter has interstitial terrains, including whatever outer realm was glimpsed in the Ten Photographs of Philadelphia story from the Horror Recognition Guide.
The God-Machine's deeper facilities and more complicated workings are generally technically part of the material realm, but segregated and temporally folded in ways that resemble pocket dimensions and alternate timelines.
Summoners has a chapter on things from other, uncategorized realms, such as the inhuman and transitory Men in Black and the world-parasite Hellmenth (which are probably the soul-siphons you recall from first edition).

I don't know why, but I think that Hellmenth come from Lower Depths. Not sure if I read it somewhere or not...
Quincux or something similar, not sure on pronunciation, also come from some weird realm...

Other, hard to categorize realms fits the description of lower depths pretty well in any case. Not saying all of them are lower realms, but some could be. I just read the entry on them in summoners and it does not say their realm is a lower depth, merely that it is "below the underworld" (like, you know, lower depths).

One thing I just remembered right now... Cheiron's board of directors is consisted of... aliens? Entities? That came from another world/Earth because their world was destroyed... so we have that world too...
