In cannon, would there be a group that would try to stop me to go back in time to buy 100k of bitcoins?

Probably not unless you did something that was damaging to history along the way in which case you'd probably get a visit from Seers or Guardians (Or other offended parties) that have Shielded themselves from temporal tampering.
History in this case is very specific to the people that might be annoyed with you for whatever reason, not in the broad butterfly effect sense.
So in essence, if you fucked up someone else's plans as a result of your tinkering, you might gain an enemy, but if you didn't then you probably won't.

It's kinda frightening to think of all the stuff you'd witness getting retroactively changed with Time Shielding.
Well, if it weren't for the fact that most Magely Time travelers (who'll actually do something to the "present" with their powers) are Masters, and far more than likely to smash your Clash of Wills pool into tiny little pieces with their casting/alterations.

It really doesn't seem like something a mage group would be concerned with, beyond the attention totally-not-a-wizard would get for suddenly becoming rich and the comparatively petty use of magic. You might have a group of Banishers or Legacy that are more focused on it but they probably wouldn't be widespread. Some individual mages might think it was seedy, but that's probably nothing out of the ordinary.

I can imagine many factions who would be very interested in monitoring such things. I think a big majority of newly Awakened mages who haven't been introduced to the awakened society will use their magic for monetary gain, so it is a way to find new mages.
Also, if someone makes big transactions it means something big is about to happen which is good to at least glance at.

Considering how many other ways a mage could gain money unless you change something else that another group cares about then i dont think anybody would come after you. You'd have to step on some other groups toes for them to seriously come after you.
And if the goal is to make money, why not just go back and buy a winning lottery ticket?

I just meant neighbors knocking on your door, telemarketers harassing you, etc. Nothing CofD specific.

To answer the deeper question, that depends entirely on how the ST wants to run his game. I have been, and always will be, of the opinion that Mages have more important shit to do.
