I thought up a Promethean villain. They are basically a Masonic-like group called " The Brothers of the Harvest." They want to find a way to separate life essence from Pyros for one of two reasons. Either they want to use it to gain eternal life or use it to give their crops life. Could that work?

Sounds a lot like one of the alchemist guilds I've been hearing so much about, so they'd be fine antagonist material. (Haven't got the chance to atually read the book, though) Maybe give them a sun motif in their beliefs, what with the fires and light of the Sun being important to agriculture and apt as as stand-in for the Divine Fire? They vision themselves as would-be culture heroes, bringing gifts of Fire to the people.

Crop, everyone else is trying to acheive immortality, crops are the USP.

I wonder how combining them might turn out: eternal, regenerating crops that you can harvest repeatably and far faster than growing newer batches. What could go wrong?

I won't be surprised to see they model themselves around the myth of Tammuz- heck, I won't be surprise to see them as a cult dedicated around the Tammuz Lineage. Each time they kill a promethean and return it to earth, the god of spring dies once more and give its life to fertilize the soil. Its fire is the sun which bless the fields, its life is the warmth of the earth. The crops they grew refine that bountiful energy of life, and by eating the bread and fruits which were blessed by the sun's light and the spring god's blood, they bring longevity and prosperity for their whole community. Those who live solely on the blessed food may achieve immortality, becoming a god of spring by themselves- which means they must return them to the earth.

The Brothers worshipping some type of fertility deity could work. Also, I guess the alchemists of the group would be part of its leadership. The members wear scarecrow masks and use farming tools as weapons. Also, how do you think these guys could work in a crossover game?Last edited by Killerclown; 01-24-2017, 06:18 PM.

Vitae from vampires is the most obvious, since it's stolen life energy. Suddenly, vampire pumpkins become much of a real threat.
Werewolves have prodigious natural healing capabilities. Could that be distilled somehow?
At least one mage out there would be interested in the alchemy, and would be likely willing to offer assistance. Or manipulate them for their own ends.
Imagine the madness that would break out when all that life-energy drawn from one thing the Wyrd has no power over whatsoever is exposed to the Hedge.
Fertility cults are a step away from chthonic cults, the latter of which Sin-eaters would gladly participate in.
Sekhem has already been proven to be capable of being caught by and used in modern technology, as Last Dynasty International proves. If it can be used for medicine, why not agriculture?
The God-Machine might have a use for making crop circles out of supernaturally invigorated crops. Something that demons will have an interest in.

I think it would be better for them to not worship a patron as in "giving it sacrifices" or have a patron deity. If they are focused more around the fertility and longevity and concept, and sacrifice promethean or other supernatural beings to something broad (such as "the earth") or do something like sacrificing an earthly representation of their god whether such representation would like it or not makes them a lot more creepy and cultic, IMO.
