Promethean: the Created 2e is shorter than Promethean: the Created 1e. Part of this is that 2e is considerably more concise; but another part is that there are things in 1e that didn't make it into 2e: Clones, for instance. As well, a lot of material from 1e's supplements got folded into 2e; but a lot didn't.

The purpose of this thread is two-fold: first, to catalog what hasn't made the transition to 2e; and second, to provide 2e-style updates to the material that has been left behind until such time that 2e supplements give official updates. I'll keep the catalog in this post, and will devote subsequent posts to updates. Note that the updates won't always be particularly loyal to the original material; but where I deviate, it will generally be to add new options. (I'm not counting brief mentions, like the mention of Nuclear Prometheans in PtC1e or the mention of constructs in 2e.)

    Promethean: the Created
Going to the Wastes: a technique used to lower your Azoth and to extend your lifespan.
Clones: biological copies of people that lack free will.
Athanors: the “Z-Splat”. 2e has Athanors, but they're entirely unrelated to 1e's Athanors.
Pandoran Mockeries: the Pandoran equivalent of Lineages.
Transmutations: Yeah, Transmutations. 2e-style Transmutations cover a lot of the same ground that 1e-style Transmutations did; but they do so in a radically different manner that doesn't have room for everything 1e offered.

    Pandora's Book

    Strange Alchemies

    Magnum Opus
Constructs: Prometheans made out of inanimate materials rather than corpses.
The Prodigal Demiurge: a Principle-like thing that was kicked out of Heaven and seeks to return.
    Scions: children of Prometheans.
A Maker Dreaming: Prometheans created through dreams.
Grandfather Crow, and Other Stories: animal Prometheans.
Crossovers: issues that come up when the Created encounter other night-folk.

Were animal Prometheans like straight-up reanimated animal corpses, or like people with animal parts grafted on?

Constructs exist in 2E, albeit as a sidebar that basically says "If you want to play a Lineage as a Construct, go for it."

Yep. And I said as much: I'm not counting brief mentions like that. Largely because this thread is also about providing stopgap rules for things that need them — so if P2e doesn't provide rules, it doesn't count.

Are you taking requests right now? I'm looking for crossover and promthean childbirth mechanics.

I'm a little new to Promethean. What kind of stopgap is needed other than just the player deciding that their character isn't made of dead bodies?

If you're made of metal, it's harder to hurt you. If you're made of paper, you burn more easily. Just two examples. Also, it might affect how easy it is to make you in the first place.

A Maker Dreaming: Prometheans created through dreams.
This is actually touched on in the Extempore section and some of the fiction, although it's not expounded on quite as fully.

Genius: the Transgression 2E is a thing that's being worked on.

For constructs, I'd recommend making a list of Bestowments that can model unusual materials, and maybe suggestions about milestones revolving around such an existence. Or, instead of Bestowments, use Merits, to keep Bestowments' additions to the lineages.

A series of Construct Merits sounds like the best option, as Bestowments are supposed to highlight unique features of a specific Lineage.

My only concern is that a Merit model turns it into an optimization choice, where Bestowments turn it into a conceptual choice, where I think it should be. As Bestowments, however, I'd still work constructs as Lineage-neutral. For me, I think Torment, Wasteland, and Disquiet effects do a good enough job distinguishing Lineages. But, alternatively, a construct trait could be worked like a kith, but zeroed out benefit-wise. A marble Muse might have have armor, but loses 10-again on Athletics; a sand sculpture Extempore might be able to pour through cracks, but reduces physical dice pools to a chance die while immersed in water.

I think construct rules should say something essential about the character and hir creation, and I think that's better served outside a dot framework.

I was hoping about giving one Construct-related Bestowment if there would be two per character. But in PtC 2E character can have only one.

Then I remembered that in 1E Strange Alchemies Constructs did get their special powers as third kind Bestowments. Maybe go this way again, in 2E fan rules?
