  • Zulo/Chiropteran Marauder/Gangrel Warform

I really like the monstrous forms of the Tzimisce and Gangrel in Classic WoD, partly because being able to turn into a great beast can make a single vampire more of a threat to werewolves, and because it reminds me of Dracula's demonic second form ability in the Castlevania games.

I don't know as much about Requiem, and haven't been able to find any discipline like this in the core rulebook, so I was wondering if anyone knows about any discipline which might be similar to these from the classic WoD.

Force of Nature. It's a devotion.

And it's far more powerful than the classic wod version but also more expensive.

Worth noting that it doesn´t straight out raise your Attributes like in cWoD. It gives you unlimited access to the otherwise quantity restricted mutations of Protean 2 and 4.

And 3. If you have a bear or something as one of your forms you could use that as a base.

Yeah, even just mundane Protean could allow you to cobble together a monstrous war form if you wanted. Beast's Skin to turn into something big like a bear, Predatory Aspect to give the bear up to three features of other animals, and Unnatural Aspect to give it a totally monstrous feature.

Huh... I actually can't find that in the original core book, is it a 2E thing? What you guys are describing does sound kinda similar to the "Partial Transformation" devotion.

Yes, it's from the 2E core book. Since about everyone who's active on the forum seems to use 2E material over 1E when applicable, it can be a good idea to point out if you're specifically looking for 1E material or want something about 1E VtR clarified.

A Devotion is what you want, I'm sure someone above has already said. They basically allow you to do anything.

As far as already written down rules, Wolf Man is similar in the Shadows of New Mexico book. And the Vampire Translation Guide has the Horrid Form, one could just have another Devotion for Chiropteran Warform. If you want to make it a permanent addition you could just use Night Horrors' Terrible Flesh Devotion, like Holger Kochfleischer.

Yeah. 2e is the current edition, so it's generally what people will assume is being discussed, unless specified otherwise.

Yeah, I guess I should have mentioned, sorry. I haven't really got into the 2E because a lot of my favourite stuff is in 1E, and I don't like the idea that the NWoD is essentially a sci-fi post-God-Machine.

The God-Machine stuff is optional and you can run Requiem 2e without ever looking at it.

It's not very science fiction, though. It's not really science fiction at all.

The God-Machine has absolutely no presence in VtR anyway. I'm not sure but I don't think it is even mentioned outside the blue books and Demon: The Descent.

Edit: My mistake. The God-Machine does have a presence in VtR, but only in an optional supplement to 1E.

For 1st edition-ish, you have a certain Protean Threnody in the Blood Sorcery book.

No god machine in Requiem, you really are missing out not cheking 2nd edition out, but to each its own.

Demons come up in Beast. Everything comes up in Beast.
