The Strix originates from a Lower Depth, but Strix coming from Owl would make a cool alternate origin for Werewolf/Vampire focused campaigns.

It's entirely possible Owl moved to or became a Lower Depth.

Acrozatarim mentioned in this post that an Electricity Pangaean might have become more powerful in modern times. I'd say they would be Rank 7, but I don't know what their personality would be like.

At the risk of being silly, electric.

Though really Pangeans don't seem to have any sort of personality that could be related to in human terms. You might be able to set a stage so that it would deal with you in a manner closer to your understanding like how Fox will deal with those wearing red, but they seem very much to be beyond our ken. It would certainly be prideful, lightning leaves its mark, and has been almost completely essential in everything mankind has accomplished in the past few hundred years, while still managing to be a purveyor of death and pain. And that's not even getting into the macro or micro scale of its significance.

added some more fan suggested Pangaeans, together with the potential Progenitors for fan made hosts. Once more, it brought up the question about the possibility of Pangaeans turning into idigam (after all, they can become spirits- and idigam is a kind of spirit, so...)

Looked around while away from Congo for a second and I saw I was mentioned

Can't write much right now but I'll be a good parent for my creations and tell you about my Hosts as soon as I can

Regarding Turtle, I was thinking he might still be around, possibly hidden in a Deep Shadow Realm accessible only in the oceans. Perhaps he has transformed into a spirit, or maybe his ability to travel between the worlds has allowed him to retain his original nature.

Either way, the Pangaean might be like the lion-turtle in Legend of Aang, in that he isolates himself from the world. Maybe he's even been sleeping for thousands of years, waking up every now and then in 'brief' periods.

Ok, here's my "canon" about my creations:

Bee. Bee is dead and shattered. A somewhat subtler and less openly dangerous Pangean than others, she stepped out the line when she tried to create an ordered kingdom of Claimed and magath that enslaved humans and forced them to work. Then Father Wolf happened.

The Bee Host make a point to not think too much about her, since hives are born and destroyed constantly. Better to concentrate on the future than on the past.

Bat. I came up with the Bat Host and its progenitors, the idigam Itzumazah, back in 1st Edition. Back then, we knew about both of Host progenitors that were similar to Father Wolf, like Azlu's Spinner Hag, and idigam, like Locust's Mussughana. For the Bats, I used the idigam route. My personal explanation for the Bats was the following: as an uncoalesced idigam, the Obsidian Butterfly was a being of chaotic unshaped potential. With a personality and goals, sure, but still something out of the primordial power that spawned the idigams. As such. it had within itself the potential to be Bat. Not something truly defined, but the symbolic and sympathetic connection to become Bat was there. Once it ripped out its heart, the idigam sacrificed a lot of his power (lowering its Rank from Sun and Moon level to 5) and renouncing to an equally huge amount of creative potential. The idigam effectively maimed itself but, the Shadow being the Shadow, the power it threw out transformed into something else that took shape accordingly to the resonance of the events. Blood, darkness and pain which turned into the Suthilu.

Now, 2nd Edition begs the question, what about Bat the Pangean? Bat still happened. There was a cosmic need for a Bat, and since the Obsidian Butterfly renounced to its occasion to fill that need and universe hates vacuums, Bat came into being. On its relation towards the Suthilu I can guess the Pangean would see them as something like family, brood of a being that was indeed thematically related to Bat, if only partially. Since in the Shadows symbols and themes are tangible, I imagine Bat would feel that way, probably acting as some sort of step-parent for the Bat Host. That's a feeling the Bat Host don't care for, though: at some point, either before or after Father Wolf's death, the Suthilu ate Bat. Not as an act of piety for a dying parent or as a part of the Hunt. They killed Bat and drank its blood because Bat did not matter to them in the slightest.

Last thing, with Sundered World now out, Itzumazah's heart totally was an Omphalos stone.

Idigam are likely Pangaeans, with Dread powers and essence shaping being the tattered twisted remains of their Arcana.

In facts Idigams would likely be the best source for the secrets of Pangaea, for both Werewolves and Mages.

Except idigam lived at the same time as Pangaeans.

I think the historical timeline works out for this: what about Dog? One of the last Pangaeans; perhaps one of the many bastard children of Wolf, but one that turned against the Uratha for some reason, and became a protector of humanity. Not sure what its fate would have been...

Are you referring to the Beast setting for Vancouver or the adventure from the Rio supplement for Mummy? If the former, I feel stupid for not realizing one could interpret it that way...it even involves the serpent getting its heart cut out. If the latter, that's also a cool idea!

Alternatively, Dog could be one of the Secondborn. Perhaps an offspring of Red Wolf himself?

I'm still trying to piece together what your original ideas for your Vancouver easter egg. But I agree with this, too. It's one interesting possibility.

Actually, I was talking about the Serpent's Tooth chapter from Hunter's Collection of Horrors- but the tie in to Vancouver's setting also makes great sense in that context! I can't comment about Rio, however, sine I don't have the book.

Apparently giant snakes and Shakespeare are common reference points among CofD writers...

I just bought Forgotten 2e (Demon and Created 2e, as well) on Friday.

So reading the part on Igidam's possible origins it becomes clear that there is a good chance that Igidam are a type of Pangaean.

I'll offer my own thoughts. Formless Igidam we're the first Pangaeans, from before the world was completely fixed, before Earth or the Shadow existed, just Pangaea existed.

Instead of becoming Coalenced, the Formless became normal Pangaeans, because Igidam we're the juvile state of Pangaeans. This adult Igidan, these Pangaea adults became the foundation of the world and this allowed both the earth and the Shadow to exist.

But some Igidam did not want to grow up yet and make choice about what to become.

So Father Wolf who started off as a Formless Igidam, but chose to hunt the formless that held off on choosing their forms.

When Pangaea was destroyed Formless Idigam lost their ability to become Pangaeans, instead they became simply became Coalenced Idigam instead, one contributing element to their madness, they can't finish the normal life cycle so instead they because something else instead.
