  • The Uratha Shall Cleave to the Human - Uratha Safal Thil Lu’u

Hello all again and sorry if it has been mentioned in an older thread, but does this part of th oath of the moon ''The Uratha Shall Cleave to the Human Uratha Safal Thil Lu’u'' still applies for the 2nd edition and for what reasons?
I heard that now the wolf people mate with each others normaly.
Appart from that part of the oath what other tenets of the oath of the moon have changed for the 2nd edition ? I am looking at your sacred prey Blood Talons

    Thank you in advance!

It still applies, but now it means that the Uratha have to maintain a connection to humanity for the sake of their spiritual health, usually by having human members in their packs, but it no longer refers to banning hot werewolf on werewolf action, which now produces regular old wolfblooded children rather than evil ghost child things.

Despite the user name I am actually bigender.

There is still the posibility to give birth to full uratha right ?
Are the chances of true uratha birth greater with werewolf mixing blood, rather than with normal humans or wolf blooded?

That would be horrifying, no one wants a baby werewolf. They're more likely to be wolf-blooded, and might become Uratha one day, though that decision is out of the hands of genetics.

it does still ban mating with wolves, but also has extra language about how "werewolves cannot forsake their human sides".

Imru Nu Fir Imru has not changed, but it didn't really need to. Just as in 1e, the phrase "the people do not murder the people" is intentionally vague, and there is in-universe disagreement over what exactly counts as "murder" and "the people." By the broadest reading, you may never cause the death of any werewolf, wolf-blooded or human member of a pack. By the narrowest reading, you are only forbidden from sneakily assassinating a member of the Tribes of the Moon.

There's depiction of prepubescent Uratha, mind. But they undergo First Change.

It does not ban mating among werewolves, or even regular wolves.

Werewolf the Forsaken second edition, p71, 'Uratha mate among themselves and humans. They count humans among their packs, including the Wolf-Blooded. While they feel kinship with wolves, they crave socialization among humans. It grounds them, keeps them in touch with humanity, helps them maintain balance. Werewolves cannot forsake their human sides, lest they become remorseless monsters as selfish as spirits.'

Hey, you know what isn't a human or a werewolf? A wolf. It's not explicitly called out like it is in 1e, but it's still the case.

Yeah, why not mating with wolves as well ?

Most people do not like bestiality in their roleplaying games.

Probably because the writers didn't want the player characters to belong to a group that finds bestiality socially acceptable. The in-universe reason is probably because wolves aren't as socially stimulating as werewolves and humans. See nofather's quote.

It's not explicitly called out because it's not a ban. Obviously bestiality is likely to be ignored by most groups, but bans against it and other sexual acts are not part of the Oath of the Moon.

There is at least one werewolf in the books who has mated with wolves, however, and one who is rumored to have sex with spirits. The 'Promised One' of the Pure is supposedly born of 'natural' wolves but I tend to attribute it to the other werewolf mentioned.
