  • Uratha payday

I am currently writing a chronicle to feature a pack of young Uratha (age limit 17-21). The idea is they have been given some territory after a war between forsaken and pure. The characters would be all new to the area and I am coming up with employment opportunities, for the players, if they want to get some money in.

I was wondering if anyone had some interesting ways their Uratha have kept themselves solvent.

My current chronicle's pack is literally based around a detective agency.

In the Eater of Names Chronicle I know one character ran an extermination agency, which coincided with their desire to kill hosts, primarily beshilu.

The Pack book has an entire pack as a computer game developer, another as a fire station (so fire fighters), another as a hospital which allows for everything from doctors to receptionists to janitors, and another was a band.

In my game one character killed drug dealers and took their money. Another character weighed their support Wolf-blooded's Merit dots into Resources and got a Sugar Daddy.

In my Savannah setting, the protectorate runs a brewery and the pure sell Wine from an Ivory Claw family's plantation.

And having the Wolfbloods run some low maintenance criminal rackets, punctuated by the occasional heist in the form of a sacred hunt can be effective.

Despite the user name I am actually bigender.

I'm running a Victorian-Era wolfie game, and one of the pack is a newsboy, two of them are members of the Peerage, and the final one is a brothel madame. Keeps them funded and well-connected on all levels of society!

The players in my current attempt at a Werewolf chronicle mostly live on their pack.
Their families and fellow weirdos support the hunt.

                  Farm; not pack.

Almost the entire pack works on the farm (or at least lives there in the case of the children) with the exception of a few wolf-blooded. The survivalist nutjob is mostly keeping to himself in an anonymous cottage somewhere in the woods while my character's sister is working as a lawyer in the big city.

Well.. yeah. I meant that they rely mostly on their pack for stable income.
It's an oversimplification, but I wanted to point out that most packs with a lot of people can support a few werewolves, whether they work or not.

Yeah. Seidmadr is the GM in most of our games.

Thought it was a typo. In a sense you're correct since the foreman and farmhands do most of the job, but the uratha also work on the farm whenever they aren't busy, and two of them actually own the land. But even if we didn't have an extended pack in the form of farmhands we could probably just lease it and have at least a survivable income just from that.

Yeah, Lucky Rat has a surprisingly legit cover for tracking beshilu activity.

Other jobs werewolf characters in my various chronicles have had:
                          Lawyer.
                          Private investigator.
                          University student.
Martial arts instructor (this went sideways after an unfortunate Kuruth incident).
                          Farmer.
                          Librarian.
                          Lighthouse keeper.
                          Manual labourer.
                          Artist/sculptor.
                          Journalist.
                          Criminal.
And a few jobless types who scraped by on odd money-making opportunities or who were basically supported by wealthier packmates.
