Was rereading this; shouldn’t the last Secret be divided into two? It talks about both the splinter sect and the ash paintings. Or are they connected?

Yeah, I agree with Bunyip - the Scouring Flame fall under the 'at risk' category of Bale Hound vulnerability, but they're not inherently Asah Gadar or anything. The Erinyes just don't believe there's any such thing as overkill!

The Bale Hounds would probably infiltrate and subvert the purpose of the Lodge quite nicely, but the Lodge’s aims of balancing the scales isn’t particularly in tune with the hounds of corruption. Balance isn’t what they’re after.

This is absolutely NOT official; it's essentially a fan-creation, even if it's written by me, and I wouldn't expect it to turn up in a book.

Absolutely not. I find them leaning more towards chaos than the maliciousness of the bale hounds, but as the description says even their totem verges on the edge of something.

Looking forward to whatever 2e brings us about bale hounds which would probably help decide one way or another, though it's easy to imagine factions inside wanting it to go wounded.

Acrozatarim's Eater of Names game seems like it would involve it, but I believe at that point the Eater is sort of out of the picture, or at least not moving of its own accord. The game took place in Hong Kong and the region nearby.

Ah. So that’s where I got the image. Still, can’t hurt to speculate.



Anyways, interesting that the Lodge gives a
Vice to its adherents. And how the Sacred Hunt effect encourages going after the target’s friends and associates first, maximizing collateral damage. Still suspecting if these guys turn Bale Hound or not. I suppose the self-purification angle is saving them from that.

I requested the lodge for my setting but didn't want to limit it to that. My setting is a fantasy one, with the focus on the Asian Subcontinent and Southeast.

But I thought asking for something more...broad would be more likely to be made than something only I would get any use out of. I figured fire was a good start, basic elemental force, with a leaning towards vengeance but out of passion, rather than evil or maliciousness. I had my own air one, and was also trying to figure out a good earth one when the Grotto came out, though I was thinking of bringing earth in line with earthquakes and avalanches, but found it hard to split that from the scouring flame's 'mass destruction' idea.

I think Acrozatarim uses Chinese names for a lot of things because he knows Chinese myth or folklore or maybe even the language well. It popped up in his two-faces, too.
