I probably wouldn't get too excited by notions of Duat and Anpu. Dave's gonna be covering other lines in their sidebar, but the focus of the chapter will be primarily on Mage and secondarily on Werewolf.
Oh, I know, but that doesn't mean I can't do my own stuff.

THEN YES, I CAN HAVE THE TWO CONFRONT EACH OTHER. *mad cackling*
Maybe...
Anpu hasn't really been fleshed out in the Mummy line and honestly I see his personality being mostly focused running Duat and being sympathetic to the Arisen. After all, they got screwed by the Shan'iatu as much as he was. Given if the conversation in the intro is correct on that part, then he's been mostly screaming "WTF!" and "You had one job! One job!" to the Shan'iatu while attempting to clean up their mess as his role will allow.
Considering how major the Rite of Return was, I wouldn't be surprised if Duat was some kind of oasis paradise before the Shan'iatu screwed that up and made it a wasteland of their own devising and Anpu being pissed as hell because he's now having to clean that shit up and knows how futile it is to sweep sand out of a desert.
My anthropology bachelor is itching for this harder now. Neolithic Mage sounded intriguing, Neolithic werewolf makes me happy in an almost perverse way.
And what the what? Vampire originated from strix possessed corpses? I thought that was just a rumor! Or are there multiple origins for the vamps?

There are more origin stories for vampires than there are Clans to have them. It's part of the beauty of Requiem.

I'm not sure how that relates to potential territorial disputes between him and Mother Wolf, particularly over, say, geists.

This kind of history is out of my wheelhouse, but does it seem to anyone else like Father Wolf may have become weakened, at least in part, due to humanity depending less on hunting during the Neolithic, as farming and agriculture began?
