  • Pangaea Unleashed

So Dark Eras is out to backers and, with it, the Neolithic era covering Mage and Werewolf.

Thoughts? Criticisms? Any interest in me writing up some unofficial sample Pangaeans? Sadly I didn't have wordcount to do more than provide the basic Pangaean rules in the chapter.

I'd love that, even if I wasn't a backer and therefort don't have the book. <,<

I absolutely loved it. The one thing that hooked me more than anything else was the offhand mention of the minor Firstborn; have Eater of Names and Sky Hunter been mentioned before, or are they new creations of yours?

I'm itching to build a Lodge around Eater of Names as a bunch of Ghost Wolves who hunt the Awakened.

Eater of Names, Sky Hunter, the twins, Wolf-Who-Whispers etc are all new creations of mine.

Yeah, I was also struck by the new Firstborn Hunter of Names, Sky Hunter, Wolf-Who-Whispers, and the Incandescent and Opalescent Twins. The Twins make me think they're the actual children of Urfarah with Luna and Helios.

I'd love to see a writeup of The Mountain, and its Host Children. The story sounds like it'd be an interesting read.

EDIT: Not gonna lie, I'd just like to see everything you couldn't fit in the wordcount on the time period.

Fox. I would love a short write-up on Fox. Don't even need stats or such.

This setting was just incredible. Crossover done right in a big way.

I haven't really checked out the Mage section but I wouldn't know much about it to begin with. I really like the Werewolf section, however, especially the different sects. The hints about Pangaeans are really cool. It has what I really want in a Dark Era, a lot of clues and hooks that can be used any time, while still having a nicely fleshed out setting area to 'play' in. I like the 'Depth' for the Border Marches as well.

It would, obviously, be very cool to see some Pangean beasties written up.

It would be spectacular to see one of the Firstborn.

Damn. Looks like I need to wait a little longer to find out more. But something tells me I can expect to see a boat load of hacks and homebrew soon based on what I'm hearing.

                    AUSPICES WERE ALWAYS A THING.

So, you know, Same old, same old for the Uratha. Nothing amazing happens for them. Everything is ordinary.

I'm getting the vibe that I might never use another setting ever again. Don't have the book yet, but this is the setting I was looking forward to the most. I'm already dreaming up ways to use Cult mechanics to simulate building a tribe.

Seeing any kind of Pangaean would be spectacular. Are there any details on Snake in the chapter?

And worse, it might have been deliberate. Damn you, Mourners.

Of a point of interest, to me, is the implication that the wolves trying to create the Gauntlet couldn't just kill Wolf to do it, they had to employ an extra means for it. I'm inclined to believe it worked that way, at least, so that leaves me wondering just what exactly they did.

Yeah. Given the interconnectedness of it all, I wonder if the Wise provided assistance in this crazy work. I doubt we'd ever get a word on that, but it's interesting to think about. What would they demand, to help lay low Urfarah?
