    1. Is there any tie between the Terat Sin-Eater and S.K. Bhurano? Both were in India, albeit in different time-periods, and both dealt with Corruption, albeit with different focus for each woman.

    2. Have named novas from TC Aberrant been mentioned or involved in TC Aeon? I’m quite knowledgeable about 1e Aberrant, but 2e is, in some ways, a reimagining of the setting, so things may’ve changed between editions.

    3. Are psionics heritable? Is the child of a psion a psiad?

    1. Nothing is mentioned (and Sin-Eater hasn't been mentioned yet in Aberrant 2E to best the of my knowledge). Aeon notes... "[Dr. Bhurano] began her studies in private, attending and later working at more than a dozen universities and research labs from the middle of the 20th century until the end of the 21st, taking on several different identities, and amassing more knowledge about noetic and quantum powers than anyone who had ever lived." It's possible they crossed paths, but Dr. Burano wasn't active solely in India or anything. It sounds like she didn't develop a deep interest in Corruption until she saw major Corruption Zones later in the wars, but with her focus on understanding what was happening she probably studied Quantum Flux Syndrome before then.

    2. Aeon does mention a number of named Aberrants, and discusses the history of a few, but I don't think any of those are described in Aberrant. If I remember correctly there is a stretch goal from the Aberrant kickstarter to release a book of novas (Novas Worldwide I think?) that is getting close to finished. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the named Aberrants from Aeon show up there as easter eggs. Generally speaking TC has tried to avoid too much "this is the future of a specific character" type stuff in favor of letting things like that play out at individual tables.

    3. Nothing has been written about it so far, but presumably there is a genetic component. It seems more likely that the child of a psion or psiad has a higher than usual chance of being a latent. A lot of the under the hood type stuff of how things really work hasn't really been delved into yet, so it might work way different. Notably when Dr. Bhurano used an invention to release a huge pulse of noetic energy and heal the Corruption Zones the energy also created tons of new Talents and latents, but not psiads.

So latency is more common a heritage? Ok! Thanks!

      1. Are the Doyen mentioned at all in TC Aberrant or TC Anima?

The named Aberrants from Aeon are mostly in the Aeon Expansion, the ones that specifically mention being from Earth are...

Slaughtermane - Used to have a fan club, doesn't say what he was famous for or if Slaughtermane is the name he went by before the wars
Sandoval Gutierrez - Kept a low profile before and during the wars and remained on Earth in hiding
Gouge - We know she left Earth due to the Ultimatum, and is afraid to go back, but nothing about her life on Earth

I think Zeus is the name of the Aberrant who hurled the Esperanza at Paris, and think he's noted to have fought in the Aberrant Wars. Forget which book he is mentioned in.

The Crimson Saint is one of the Aberrants who rode the Esperanza down to Earth, they travel the ruins of France healing the sick and recruiting followers the most devout of which are mutated. No mention of a life on Earth.

Distant Worlds (a supplement for Aeon discussing planets outside the Solar System) also mentions a number of Aberrants by name, mostly in relation to lost colonies founded by novas before the wars. I don't any of them are mentioned in Aberrant though.

Terra Firma (a supplement for Aeon about Earth and the Solar System) also name drops a few Aberrants, usually in relation to the lingering effects of what they did during the wars.

As Anima reader - Doyen are mentioned only in Secrets chapter of era - and only in context ' they build force field that limit Novas till Devis Mal shannenigans'. - i. E. Main Aeon Timeline stuff.

However, Anima is very much based on other aliens - Ascendancy... 😎

            1. Are the Doyen mentioned at all in TC Aberrant or TC Anima?
The Doyen get mentioned a lot across lots of TC books, but they're most active and involved in the affairs of humanity during the Aeon era.

In Aberrant it notes that after the Adventure era the Doyen built an energy barrier around Earth to mute the effects of any future Hammersmith type events. N-Day was caused by Divis Mal recreating a quantum focused version of the Hammersmith event powerful enough to shatter the barrier, freaking out the Doyen. For some of the events in Aberrant that don't have specific defined causes the Doyen are mentioned as possible instigators, but one of several options.

In Anima they're only mentioned once briefly, and then just in reference to the backstory of the big bads of Anima not as active meddlers in human affairs of that era. Presumably they were busy dealing with the effects of the Aberrants driven off Earth, and were hoping humanity would just die out after the wars. They don't take an active interest in earth again until Dr. Bhurano sets off a huge pulse of noetic energy, which leads to a faction of Doyen deciding to create the proxies and use humanity as catspaws against the Aberrants.

In Adventure they're mentioned a few times, but mostly delving into more details about the energy barrier they built around Earth. An unintended, but positive from the Doyen point of view, effect of the barrier is it prevented any Inspired individual ever becoming powerful enough to go from Stalwart or Mesmerist to Nova or Psiad. The future Divis Mal and Dr. Bhurano both (separately) spent a lot of time trying to understand the Hammersmith Event, and were sort of aware something was interfering in a way that didn't make sense, but nothing indicates either of them ever became fully aware of the barrier or who created it.

In Aether, the victorian era setting that is wrapping up its kickstarter this week, the Doyen are also mentioned, but again mostly in relation to the big bad of the setting (who are quantum users) and trying to bring about their downfall. The Doyen are seemingly unaware of Earth and humanity at this point in time, and don't get involved in the invasion of Earth.

If you want more tasty Doyen info Under Alien Skies (an Aeon supplement delving into alien species) has a whole section on the Doyen and details their homeworld. The Qin also have a colony on a planet detailed in Distant Worlds that was once home to a Doyen colony before their failed attempt at ascension.

All three of the power sources (quantum, psi, dimensional flux) are accessed by many of the same gene sequences. If you have the correct genes and are exposed to quantum energy, you may erupt as a nova. Exposure to noetic energy may turn you into a psiad. Exposure to raw flux may turn you into a Talent. Adventure! specifically notes it is rare but possible for someone to gain powers when someone who already has powers uses those powers on them, and that they always gain the same type of power as that person.

Max Mercer is a Talent, but his supposed granddaughter is a psiad. I say supposed, because Maggie Mercer's father popped up one day in the '50s as a fully grown adult, announced himself as Max's son, and took over the Aeon Society. Max (who is asexual) didn't object, and won't say anything about his "son's" unnamed mother.

As for whether psions can have psiad kids, it hasn't been explicitly addressed. On the one hand, it makes sense that it could happen. On the other hand, the Doyen are a bunch of dicks, and it wouldn't surprise me if they designed the prometheus chambers to interfere with the propagation of psi powers to future generations.

One name that is mentioned both in Aeon (Terra Firma) and Aberrant is Vladimir Sierka, while he is not on Earth during Aeon Era, one of his supertech creations is.

It hasn’t been addressed officially, and possibly never will be, but my own view is almost certainly not. Two psion parents probably a higher chance of producing latency, but essentially *zero* chance of making a psiad. One psion and a psiad - high chance of latency, maybe a chance of being a psiad. One psion and a baseline - slightly higher chance of latency, very little chance of producing a psiad..

In 2022 there are 1.38 billion people in India. That's a solid one out of every seven people in the world.

Assuming half are women, that's still 690 million. Odds are two of them are going to have the same general interests.

A few. Several that have been mentioned aren't using the same names they used in the Aberrant era.

Will we see an official list? I understand one can say, yes, this and this can be the same, but will we see the future villainous names of our friendly novas?

Well, I got Trinity Continuum Aberrant Corebook, as well as a mini-sourcebook detailing a team of starting-level novas (“Amalgamated Idea Dynamics”). I’m very glad I made both purchases, as I feel they were worth every single cent.

                          Some things I’ve already noticed:

                          1. The updated timeline. Makes the game more relevant.
                          2. Doing away with the death of a certain redhead.
                          3. The general tone of optimism. Granted, I, personally, stick to the canon timeline, so in my games this optimism will burn like wood in a chimney, but I loved it nonetheless, this ambience of limitless potential.
                          4. Fixing a certain metamorphic process unique to a certain radical nova faction. Thank you!
                          5. A much better powers systems. I’ve noticed some Mutants and Masterminds influences, but that is not an insult, but rather intended as a compliment.
                          6. They have a more coherent, less intrigue-y setting. This is good, because mundane conspiracies don’t last long against characters with Mega-Manipulation and Mega-Intellect.
                          7. The art is amazing!

I have no real complaints of any substance.

As to Amalgamated Idea Dynamics, this lil sourcebook is extremely well done. Each character on the team is distinctive, and you can, in your mind, roughly see where each character could go, as the timeline moves along and powers rise.

EDIT: I just wanted to say, “Slaughtermane” is one of the most badass names I’ve ever heard of. Paints a picture in your mind just by the name alone!

                            Some questions, concerning TC Aberrant:

                            1. Can Mega-Attributes go above 5 dots? I know the relevant Attribute would have to match the Mega-Attribute, but is this possible?
                            2. The Animal Mastery Mefa-Edge: does it work on alien wildlife?
                            3. Can the Detection Mega-Edge sense subquantum, the way psions can detect Quantum (“Corruption”)?
                            4. Would the Universal Translator Mega-Edge work on languages of an extremely alien nature (ie, the color-based language of Chromatics)?

                              1. Yes, you need Quantum equal to the desired dots and the attribute at 5 dots
                              2. Up to you. Personally I would say no, and make it cost one extra dot to do so.
                              3. Why not? My personal answer is no, because Psi is too small to be detected, but the rules for Novas can also be used to describe Psiads, and so a Psiad could do (and basically alwals can do because its basically Attunement).
                              4. Up to you. Personally I would make it harder to do so, specially if the character cant reply (cant change color as in the example), but definetly not impossible.
