I'm reading properly Aeon era corebook preparing for chronicle. And get some questions about Earth's powers in setting...

    1. China in Aeon era is still communistic totalitarian 'protector of Asia', but also respecting human rights ( of at least LGBT+ and religious minorities)? All because Proxy Bue-Li and her Ministry brainwashed China government on start of her election and being Proxy in 2106? Do I get it right?

More or less. A powerful Nova with profound social insights created Aeon China's culture. Her ideas work but are slowly coming closer to collapse as the world changes around China. Thus China is weirdly contradictory, profoundly strong and near collapse.

My gripe is that the USA is the most anti democracy nation on the Aeon planet. You have a world of Western values with no west. Politically correct and logically nowhere.

Actually, there are several homes for post-American western values: Australia, Africa, Luna, and Oceania all come to mind. Africa is by far the least likely of these; but I could see it happening as the long-term result of benevolent Nova interference prior to the Aberrant War: where China benefited from a Mega-Intellect crafting a Super-Science political system for them, I could see the cultural seeds for the AUN being planted by a hypothetical Mega-Social instilling the multiculturalist attitude that eventually allowed the disparate nations of the Bright Continent to come together.

Where Africa is the least likely successor to the USA, Australia is perhaps the most likely: it has transformed from a largely isolationist nation to a multicultural nation with strong ties to all of its immediate neighbors in Polynesia and Southeast Asia, and also served as a refuge for those who fled the nascent FSA. And as the host for the Legions, it also kind of plays the role of world police — just without the former USA's tendency to meddle in other nations' internal affairs, in pay because it isn't actually Australia that's funding or managing the Legions; it's “just” hosting them.

Who then pays for Legions, if not Australia? UN? Trinity? NGO funding?

'Fun' fact - Fanon - Exceptionally, in May 2121, the first GlobVision takes place in Austria, a song contest that is the successor to the Eurovision Song Contest that finally fell with France in 19th September 2120 with Crash of Esperanza. For decades, Australian media companies led by OBC (Offworld Broadcasting Company), have been one of the main pillars of the competition for years, so this year they organized it themselves, in Sydney, of course, as part of 'help for fleeing human Brothers, Sisters or Siblings from Europe'. For the first time, China and FSA are also invited to the competition, according to the GLOBvision brand, and not just Euro. SudAmerica and UAN were also invited, but did not prepared contestants for 2121 GLOBVision contest. It changed in 2122 where they started to be leaders in popularity rankings.

Proxy Bue-Li was already an up-and-coming party agent when she started the Telepathic Order, so China was already fairly egalitarian towards LGBT+ and religious groups. OTOH Ministry of Noetic Affairs telepaths were initially forced to work in government centers to indoctinate 'dissidents'. After many of them killed themselves in horror over their actions, the Ministry had the indoctrination centers shut down. Basically, you've got a lot of the problems with modern China being tempered by a super-science system of laws designed by a compassionate nova child; they must uphold those laws because the laws have granted them the most efficient and least corrupt government in the world, and no one knows what actions will cause the system to break.

In the Trinity Continuum, did the UK ever leave the European Union? Remember, the Trinity Universe setting was originally published in the early 2000s; and even the Trinity Continuum update is, what, five to ten years old? Real-world events of the past decade aren't necessarily part of it.

The transition from UK to UR: I'll have to research that to see if there's a formal answer; but off the top of my head, I could see a couple of ways for it to happen: the first would be a mostly peaceful transfer, where the last monarch of England announces that not only are they avoiding the throne, but that the monarchy system is outdated and should be ditched. A referendum and/or Parliamentary action concurs, and a new “head of state” system gets established to handle those functions that the monarchy was still doing.

A less peaceful way to go about it would be “The Aberrant War happens,” with the Royal Family as casualties. Rather than establish a new Royal Family, the British decide to set up a different mechanism for those few governmental functions that the monarch had still been fulfilling.

Yex, explicitly, the consequences of Brexit are a major part of the UK's write-up in Aberrant.

I believe one of the books mentions the rightful king of England living in exile in either Norway or Sweden and legally forbidden from visiting the UR.

Normandy, in France. In Aeon era, Last king of UK,
George VIII lives in Normandy. It's call back to UK long history with France, where half of their rulers dynasties where from France, starting with William the Conqueror from 1066. War of roses in 14th century, on which Games of Throne is based, it's also conflict of de facto French nobility in England. 😎

What's interesting, modern Windsor royal family ( from what are Elizabeth and Charles ||| ) are from German 19th century nobility, so much more logical would be for last monarch to go to Berlin on exlie? 🤔 But Normandy is 'just over the fence' ( Channel ) from UK, so to speak. Sorry, I'm a bit historian hobbyist and was listening lectures for me partner on History of UK. 😎

/ Wikipedia - In 1917, the name of the British royal house was changed from the German Saxe-Coburg and Gotha to the English Windsor because of anti-German sentiment in the United Kingdom during the First World War. /
